It looked pretty bad when a drove by this afternoon. Current was flying and the water was really dirty.

Jerry - Rob already gave an acceptable explanation. I wasn't necessarily talking sh|t or starting beef just making a funny and giving you a pleasant forum welcome.... :pistols:  Take it how you want. I'm at Juno most saturdays if you want to take it the wrong way though  (except for this one... i'll be at Anglins Pier).. :jester:

James11 I take it it's safe to say the baits(big preferably) are still hanging around?

Yep it's kid friendly. Unless your worried about the kid slipping thru the railings. With that you may have a problem. Definately drop me a line if your gonna head up. You should come up Sunday for the BBQ. We may put an hour or 2 in at Juno.

There were Muttons and Mangroves and that was about it. A hand full of Bonita and a snook here and there that ate your snapper bait. It was the best day for snapper so far this summer and it wont last cause both Palm Beach and Jupiter inlet are dark with all the fresh water they released. The snapper were on but more then likely not as good as the piers down south, today was the day I really wish Lake Worth was open cause the Muttons go off there better then anywhere else when a storm comes by. There were maybe 10 keeper Muttons caught and a couple nice mangroves. One grover went 4 or 5pds but the rest of the mangroves were around 12 inchs. A couple of the muttons were around 20 inchs and a few ladyfish were caught.

Thank goodness it came midweek. No need to make a mess out of it like it would be on the weekend. If you had all those clowns out there how many undersized Muttons would have gone in coolers? You know marine patrol never comes up there, in over a thousand trips to that pier I have only seen them 2 or 3 times. Plenty of cops come up there and park rangers but not fish and game. There was more people there then you would have thought for a weekday, about as many as you can handle and still have a good time.

I know this is the Juno thread, but since it was touched on.....

The BSO hit Deerfield last night doing cooler checks, busting poachers, and ended up taking a cooler full of fillets that nobody on the T would claim. It was obvious which group of people it belonged too, it was the same group dumping a bucket of short muttons when they noticed the cooler checks being done. The pier attendant was giving the rules for muttons over the loudspeaker every 15 minutes, and was doing mandatory cooler searches before you left the pier. On top of that BSO was checking people in their cars as well for shorts as you departed. Long story short, it was very good to see!

Chris good point. I hadn't thought of it that way. When was the snapper bite the strongest? I may have to take some time off work next time around.

WhoDey I love seeing FWC/Sherriff/Rangers/Whoever nail those assholes.

Hit Juno today from sunrise until about 1pm with Get Spooled and his friend. Very windy conditions that just got worse as the day went on (some gusts must have been pushing 35+knots). Anyway, the snapper bite was hot in the morning. I got this 24" mangrove snapper on a small goggle eye fishing for snook.

Image

The snook bite was on the slow side compared to the way it has been the past few weeks, but I managed to get two snook (one was about 36", the other was a slot fish). Some FWC biologists were on the pier and they took fin samples for DNA analysis and tagged both my snook (look closely at the first dorsal fin and you will see the streamer tag).

Image

Besides that, I got a bunch of runners and some undersized muttons. Get Spooled and his friend got some legal and undersized muttons and a legal mangrove, as well as a bunch of bonito. Saw a bunch of other legal and undersized muttons come up, one king (that was unfortunately chomped by a cuda on the way up), as well as a lot of bonito.

Nice report that is a sweet mango.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Went out there this afternoon. Got a 20inch Mangrove, 16inch Grover, a couple 12 inch Grovers, a keeper Mutton, a couple snook and a Bonita on a plug. My friend got a 22 inch grover and I saw one 20 inch Mutton come up.

Nice catch.

On FFR last nite Mike Holiday was saying after the storm expect a big snapper bite on the beaches around rocks, and all the piers.

Guess he knows what he's talkin about.
Wanna go fishin?
We ain't left yet?
