Most folks use a small circle or kahle hook (single hook). Sometimes these are also called English Hooks ....

I've always used #4 green sabiki with no glow beads. If the Sardines are smaller then use #3.

I have been searching for Sand Fleas for the last 2 weeks with no success in Boynton. The sand is hard and compact after the NE winds and erosion. I now have a back up plan for tomorrow - GULP/sand...

Question, I'm having trouble keeping live shrimp alive. I'm using a 4 quart bait bucket and a Aerator. I usually buy 3 dozen shrimp and after 3-4 hours most are dead, by that point there is probably 2...

It was probably your hook. The hook was too strong and rip it out of the fish mouth. Try Mustad, as their hook are not a strong compare to Owners and Gamakatsu. screw owner hooks they suck i bent them...

Thats where a longer rod comes in helpful, point it straight down so the line doesn't rub as much.

There is a new B&T shop open a few weeks ago. The place is getting started and the prices are very good. Ballyhoo are firm not mushy and prices for crabs are a $1.00 each. Very nice people. The shop...

Chum and a baited gold hook on light line or a hoop net. There was a ton of them on the bait balls out of Pt Everglades but last word I got they moved off. You pretty much need a boat to catch them...

I'm in the market for a cast net with 1/4 mesh. I was in Bass Pro today checking them out and all they have is ones made of nylon mesh instead of monofilament.

Seems like the nylon could be harmful...

Don't know where you live but Atlantic bait, On Atlantic just did an expansion and they have allot of cast nets in the window. Give them a call for the nylon vs mono

Has anybody ever tried using these rigs to catch baitfish? Was wondering how effective they might be. A guy in a local PA tackle shop told me that guys are even using them up in Lake Erie to catch...

I was using an improved cinch knot like a fly fisherman would tie and needed 2 pairs of pliers and a vise to pull it in 3 directions, seriously. I like to use the Palomar knot whenever possible...

I picked up some ladies, blues, jacks for shark bait and put them in the freezer. I used one this weekend and it was extremely dry and brittle. I'm new to using bait, so I would appreciate any...

I don't use bit baits as you mention but we do net up crap loads of ballyhoo and pilchards and freeze them.
Many days a bag of hoo will come out of the freeze, thaw and then be re-frozen.

Always salt...
