I'll pass along this tidbit since I have moved and don't have to worry about my secret getting blown up. Park in the 30 minute parking spaces by the Coast Guard Aux./Lifeguard building just south of Spanish River Blvd on A1A. All kinds of people visit that building. I only used it near sunrise/sunset, but never got a ticket. I am a former city employee and I was told that as long as you didn't park there for too long or when it was dark, you'd be fine. This is in no way a rule or set in stone so there is still a definite possibility of getting a ticket. However, I parked there dozens of times with no problem.

I went out right before school started again and I was able to get 6 snook. Two on fly which were my first ever, sight casted too! Lots of fun. There was also a school of large jacks destroying all the bait that was around. Haven't been out since.

hi....yes thanks.....I saw them just..now......i responded...i was skunked at sunset again..............

......also as far as this post

" I think if you have a resident beach pass, then the parking at the meters should also be free. I think I'll send an email.."......I found a receptive ear in city hall....and want to really press the issue..elections are coming:)

Definitely!... if we have a Beach Pass, we shouldn't have to pay at the meters. THanks for contacting them about that... I think I"ll do the same...

Funny, my friend said it was "bluefish madness" before sunset on Monday evening... he caught 10 keepers in an hour, mostly on fresh ladyfish chunks (that he also caught then).

Clearly a matter of being in the right place at the right time!
...which I've not managed to do too much this season, so far. :-(

Saturday was great in the afternoon off the beach. Nice sized groups of mullet with tarpon cutting through at times. Threw everything but live bait out and unfortunately could not land anything but had a great time with all the action and extended hunt.

Sunday evening and Monday morning couldn't find any bait along the beach. Ended up at the inlet and just caught a few small throw backs. Last night fished the jetty and a few bridges and still could not find any sizable groups of bait moving through.

Bluefish at sunrise yesterday on silver spoon... they were hitting some bait pods moving thru. Nice to finally have some action on Boca beach!

Nice blue Jeff...........haven't been down that way since they put in the meters, lol. We were getting some decent spanish and smaller jacks on the beach up here a few weeks ago, but it's dead now.

LOTS of small bait, no predators :-(

Post by gatorjwade »

Walked the beach at sunrise today.... LOTS of clouds of small baitfish plip-plopping on the surface, but seems like no predators hittin' them.

...except for the pair of sharks that were frolicking just off the sand before sunrise. :-)

Hopefully some snook show up on the beach for Sept 1...

Hey Jeff, been thinking about shooting you a message. I haven't been in your area in ages, was wondering if any beach action. Hasn't been too good on the beach here. Not a good picture as I was alone, caught this tarpon a couple of weeks ago.

hi Stu! Unfortunately, it's been overall pretty dead on Boca beaches for some time now. In June, I did jump a nice 5' tarpon with a free-lined blue runner, and got a 5' blacktip in the same manner, but other than that dead all Summer for me.

Trying to figure out my plan for Sept 1 now...
