I guess I'll be the first for the year. It was my first time out on the salt all year so far so I just went out to see what was up. Not much really going on, me and my friend walked from the bridge to the end of the sea wall throwing around some artificials and all we had to show for it was a couple jacks and a whole bunch of lizard fish. My dad walked down to the jetty and said there wasn't anything out there either. Over all, really windy and cold and not a lot of fish. Maybe next time!

Tons of bait. Mostly sardines, pilchards, and goggle eyes. In that order. I lost 2 snook and got 7 jacks. Over all a pretty productive afternoon. Oh yeah and some fishing spear fished a snook and left his guns on a rock for his friend to pick up while he made his get away. Getting away with this stuff is too easy sometimes. Something needs to happen

What a scumbag. You should have called FWC, they would have given you a reward if they found him. You were catching gogs during the afternoon, I don't hear that often?

I told a park ranger that I saw there, he didn't seem too interested. I would of called but I don't have the number handy and he was in and out in 15 minutes tops. It's because of people like that that other people can't have nice things. And the gogs were there mixed in with pilchards, but that was a rarity for me. I'm not promising anything about tomorrow but today I got 5 with throwing my two hook sabiki for about 5 minutes. That's what the two snook hit by the way.

Tons of bait on the incoming as always however I haven't seen goggle eyes anymore. All in all it was a fun day. I caught a 15 inch mangrove free lining a pilchard, but the high light of the day goes to my little 10 year old brother who I took with me. He hooked a 50lb poon free lining a pilchard, he was so pumped it was awesome. After fighting him for 10 minutes he got tired and handed the rod over to me and another 5 minutes later on one of his jumps he spit the little circle hook but my brother was satisfied all the same. That's it, he's hooked for life, he's got that "look" in his eyes now. And as we were wrapping it up he got a little cuda. Well that's about it, can't beat a chill day like that.

I feel like I'm the only person on here that fishes this place lol. Well if anyone is interested it was all the hand sized pilchards and gogs you could ever want.

I think most people are just stalkers: they're looking for others to tell em where the bite is, and never post any reports. I don't fish up by Boca but thanks for the reports, it tells me the pilchards are making their way to Miami. You still seeing the gogs in the afternoon? Thanks for the updates.

A couple days ago, the day after my brother jumped the tarpon I went again in the afternoon, that day was a mix of sardines and pilchards. My guess is that the gogs are showing up later in the incoming tide because when I was there this morning there was about 2 hours left of the incoming whereas the days where I haven't seen the gogs was always early on in the incoming tide, like the first hour or so of it. And thanks, glad to see someone appreciates it haha. Its kinda sad that the only other person that's said anything on this "thread" I believe it's called, is someone who doesn't even fish the area. Where are all the boca peeps at?lol Oh well, it is what it is and it won't stop me from posting, I like to lend a helping hand wherever and however I can.

For whatever reason not a lot of people post. When I first joined this board there was a good amount of posts daily.

Boca has gogs at time but you are better off sticking to the piers
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

The last time I was there which was when I last saw the gogs (a week or so ago) the water was crystal clear, I could see all the way to the bottom of the inlet, very nice looking water. I took a walk down the beach for about an hour and I only saw one snook, kind of surprising as I was expecting more of them. I'm probably gonna try to get out there this afternoon and try my hand at some beach snook with a couple pilchards which will more than likely be in the inlet before the tide change at 5:30 or so. Maybe it was just too calm the other day, it's a little rougher out today so maybe I'll find some takers. Once I know they're there it'll be time to get my first one on fly. I'll keep everyone updated!

Rough weedy dirty and no bait. That changed really quick haha. I feel lucky to have gotten the 3 little runners that I got.

No bait now for about a week and half, the opening of the canals left the water too dark for the bait to run. Mullet coming soon, according to weather conditions it should be on time for the first week of Sept.

Newbie, trying to put in my 2 cents. I hope it helps people. Oh yeah if anyone needs help with making live bait wells. that's my expertise.

I went back today, still no bait in the inlet but if you put in some time you could get some small pilchards on the beach side if you were really desperate for bait. Bring the 1/4 inch mesh nets, unless you like Christmas trees.

Heard only a couple "pops" and didn't catch any snook, but did land this nice snapper! It pulled real hard for its size and I *almost* fell on the rocks in the darkness gettin' down to the fish. :-)

Been to the inlet 3 times this past week, twice at dusk once in the morning, when not finding mullet on the beach. Catching was slow, nothing big was brought in.

So I've been busy with school and haven't been able to fish in a while. But today I was checking the cams and there's some big thing floating out there and a big pipe type of thing on the sand. Are they dredging or does anyone know what that is?
