Anglins Pier Reef Clean up -March 3rd Saturday 7am

Post by BoatlessFisherman »

OK a little extra heads up so any certified divers here that want to help in the water can get a hold of Steve who runs Gold Coast Scuba and do what that need you to do before hand.
This is the link to Gold coast scuba with the info

Those that would like to be on the pier lifting buckets and trimming out weights and stuff can help there you need to touch base with me on that. I will be there as all clean ups I do.

I can make it to help out on the pier itself. I'll be curious to see what kind of stuff comes up. Let me know if there is anything I need to do beforehand, Tommy.

I can be there and will work up on top if needed.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Thanks Tommy, a great opportunity to look after the environment we love. I'm in. From the pier.

Ricky, I lost a very special 6 ounce bank sinker out there a couple months ago. Please get it back for me, thanks.

nice of yall to help out , wish i could be there !

but for those of you that are going to help be careful when pulling the buckets up , only let them fill them about half way if possible and bring a pair of side cutters with you will make it go a lot faster when cutting leader wire and mono and a sharp knife for cutting rope of cast nets if there is any .... and if the pier has a life ring have it ready on the pier just incase a diver needs help !

ive helped the guys that dive sebastian inlet now and then and they were bringing up lead ,spoons , jigs , and cast nets .

I Hope I will be able to switch days with someone and help out..... if nothing else than to hang with such a mentally unbalanced group

NOTE be very careful when remelting the recovered lead I had some very scary moments when using recovered lead this past year.... lead that has had barnacles and other growth from being down awhile will pop (explode) when put in your melter and in my case threw several oz worth of lead out of the pot and it still covers part of my driveway...

I even hammered at the covering to get most of it off the lead....egg sinkers are a real problem because of what is inside where the line normally runs....

Just saying be very careful
Rick

Tommy, Pat, Nelson, Rick and the rest of you troops, I'm in. I'd advise bringing a pair of work gloves with you for handling ropes and heavy buckets. Rory, you bring the Purell. And if anybody's got a copy of the SI swimsuit issue, bring that too!
Those other fish must be smart. We caught all the stupid ones!

This is a go Divers will be in the water at 7am and it looks like we have about 20 divers from the shop. so those that are coming should have some gloves and cutters I should have enough buckets.

See you at about 6:30am
