Adopt a bridge clean up December 2

Post by Green Tide »

Post up if you can meet up at the north end of channel 2 at 10am. As you can see if you have been there lately it is starting to look bad. This is a family event that kids enjoy, believe it or not. We even had a dog at the last one.
Tide tables say high tide at 1143 that morning for the ones that will be fishing that day.
We will have plenty of bags and gloves for everyone. Bring your own picker and bucket if you want one.

I will try. Going to depend how the weather is, to decide if it is worth making the drive to fish.

I am visiting from Minnesota that week but am heading back home on the 30th. I won't be able to make it on Saturday but already have 4 big trash bags packed and plan on cleaning up a bit as I fish channel 2 during the week.

I figure it's the least I can do for all of the great information I have received here in preparation for my first trip to the Keys!

Thanks pat, we have been cleaning this bridge for quite a few years now and it really makes a difference. Too bad you have to leave so soon and miss the chance to meet some of the guys. It is a great way to meet people you read about and pickup and share some tips that most don't want to put out over the internet. Like the guy I met yesterday from south carolina.

A bunch of us get together, talk a lot of fishing and BS, walk across Channel 2 and pick up trash and also clean the areas at the base of the bridge. Usually some people either meet to fish before or after, or go and get lunch after the cleanup.
