2017 Team Boatless Bridge Fishing Trip!!!

Post by kblue »

Guys

Time for team boatless 2017 bridge fishing trip. I volunteer to plan out this trip...
We didn't have the forum fishing trip last year... So we must have it this year.... We need to prove this forum is alive...
Stop saying old good time...let's make good time right now.

First of all, let's decide the date and let's see who can come.

As generally done, Let's say Friday Night to Sunday Afternoon. But you can come earlier and stay longer... or just stop by a few hours...
I probably come early Friday to catch baits and fishing till Saturday late evening...

I believe fishing doesn't depend on luck but pure skill with situation awareness...
Trust me guys... I learned so much while fishing with our forum legends... new members must come to learn something new...
Most in this forum are very good people specially if you meet in person...they are just keyboard worrier.

Let me know what date is good... If possible, I like to shoot for sometime Feb. And Let me know who can come (BTW, it is not commitment)...

Thank You

Going to take more than a bridge trip to revive this forum.

Sadly I must say
RIP BOATLESS
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Agreed although the spirit is always there... It will be just an open fishing trip for boatless members. that means anyone can come... That's all.

I disagree. We still have at least one new comer per week... This forum is alive...But this may be just as far as we can go.
Senior members are just tired of hearing same thing over and over or saying same thing over and over ... We need some change... I even found myself stop post pictures on this forum...

Imo, you have ppl here that are still active in their own ways (posting reports, pics, helping with info to others)... one thing that has always bothered me was when ppl would ask if theres anything biting at the piers or whatnot, and dipshits would reply with, " why sont you go and find out". What kind of crap is that? Its not like youre goving up a secret spot. Like, why whats the problem of asking a regular(s) if the bite is on? But anyways, there are still ppl on here willing to help others and meeting up..i will try and go to this trip because i owe it to myself and others to finally meet and enjoy some fishing

The whole place went to chit after Boatless became politically correct and began accepting Cubans, Asians and cops (lol) as full members with the same rights as the rest of us. Who's next Muslims? (tommy

One new member a day that seldom post. On average this site gets 1-3 active posts in a 24 hour period. Most of the old timers no longer even lurk here let alone post.

Kblue let me know when in Feb? I have been dying to fish the keys again but the strong winds have kept me away. If I go it would be on a Saturday just for a day.

Perhaps, we could as a separate trip... but those big guns may not be interested in catching pompanos...They'd rather go for permit.
Permit is one of target species for this bridge trip... Easily one of most challenging fishing is catching permit in bridge pylons.

It would be great if you can come...

For time, I think we have the following choice

Feb 10-12 : Moon phase : Full(10th), Moon rise @ 6:13PM
Feb 17-19 : Moon Phase :Third Quarter, Moon rise @ 12:29AM
Feb 24-26 : Moon Phase :New(26th),

It appears Feb 10-12 is perfect time for bridge fishing.

Guys

One important rule.

To protect the confidentiality of fishing spots and methods, no video recording will be allowed during the trip.
Taking picture may be allowed but background has to be erased. Special attention must be paid if pictures are uploaded for public sharing.

With this rule, I hope more senior members come to this trip... Trust me this means a lot to them and this forum.
I learned things in hard ways...

I agree.. the lines can get cut in between the pylons... but I also think if you can catch a permit, from all the jetskis,, boats,, kayaks,, swimmers, AND 20 other crab buffet lines at North Miami beach,, is also challenging...

and speaking of confidentiality,, I totally agree.. my spots are well-known to this forum.. Caught this 15 lb juvenile during low tide last week... and there were pompanos being caught too..

Personally I would rather we wait til April or so. February is pretty hit or miss down there, April is usually real good.
