Great thread. I work on my box all the time trying not to carry more than I need. Too much lead klled the strap on my first soft bag. I sewed it back on with 60 lb braid. (Now I use braid to sew everything)

As for lead, I make my own sinkers, bought most of the molds on e-bay. I had to make a mold for bugs. The last raw lead I bought for .45/lb from a local recycler. I sell some sinkers to other fisherman also, which makes it about free.

I like the softside bag with plastic boxes. I can replace them when they break and change them for where I'm going fishing.

Check eBay. You can get jig heads ready to finish for quite a bit less with shipping.

I know a few people have asked about where to get the front wheel for pier cart's.

Just ordered one for a friend so we don't die trying to get his cart out on Long key bridge any more

ok I might as well do this
in my first tackle box I have jigs, gotchas, a few lipped plugs and crankbaits some butterfly jigs and a shrimp
Image
in my second box I have mostly topwater plugs and spoons and a small cuda tube lure.
Image
in this 3rd box I have all soft plastic lures like DOA shrimp, tough guy, tsunami pro soft plastics. I also have jigheads for unrigged soft plastics, I have 2 CW crab lures as well and a very special extra large DOA shrimp which is towards the bottom.
Image
in this 4th box I have all terminal tackle, hooks, swivels, snaps, short wire leaders, sinkers and beads.
Image
and this last pic is of everything! I have more I just never took it all out of my bag, I have a spiderwire tackle bag which I take it everywhere with me and it contains of all this.

I haven't gone through all the entries here and I know we all have a lot of stuff in our tackle boxes, but I ran across this item last week, while we were waist deep in macks up on Pompano Pier. George (one of the regulars there) came over to me and asked if I had anything in my box to remove a tiny piece of wire leader that he had apparently got stuck just under the skin of his finger during the great mackeral assault. Well, I did. I fetched out a pair of flat sided tweezers and gave it to him and watched as he removed not a piece of wire from his finger, but rather, the tooth of a mack. Then, he says, "Oh, yeah, I think he bit me and I didn't realize it at the time. So, does this mean he's got teflon fingers or something? Hey, be sure to carry a pair of tweezers. Ya never know, right? Out!

Im usually the kind of guy that goes to the doctor at the first sign of any serious problem but I did read on google that when a pimple forms like you said, it is the way that your body removes the embedded object, luckily the spine in my finger did not get infected but if nothing happens for a while I will consider a trip to the doc. happened to me once before about 8 or 9 months ago with a jack crevalle spine. the spine was about a centimeter deep and I saw it so I became surgeon Chris, cut my finger open, plucked it out and patched it back up no problem  I did not numb my finger in any way though, you bet it hurt!!! :pale:

Suggestions for removing foreign objects from fingers (and thumbs). You'll need the following instruments if you wanna do it right, or you can just wing it: alcohol swabs, matches or a bic lighter, a new razor blade, a sewing needle, tweezers (both flat and pointed varieties). And ice. Lots of ice. The procedure is this: put the wounded digit in ice or ice water for as long as you can stand it or until absolutely numb. Swab the area around the foreign object with alcohol. At this point you have a choice; gradually make an incision with the new blade or burn the end of the needle, swab the soot off with the alcohol swab and start slowly scraping around the foreign object, removing small amounts of skin and enlarging the opening around the object. Pretend you're giving yourself a tattoo, cause it'll hurt. Booze helps, too. Eventually, you'll open a space large enough to get the tweezers in there and grab the offending object and remove it from the digit. Then, hold the object up while in the tweezers and swear out loud. You earned it! Follow up by swabbing the wound with alcohol (come on, man up, dude) and at this point you need a really cold beer that should already be in the ice you had your finger in. But, hey, what do I know? What's that you say? Yeah, I did it. I was rock climbing and a boulder fell on my finger and I was trapped. I had to cut my finger off. It was the middle one on the left hand. I have to cast right-handed now. Where's my rum?

Here's a hook removal technique

Also if the barb is all the way through or you can push it through you can snip the barb and pull it out freely. :nopity:

That dude didn't even feel it being removed. Did you see him pulling on that bottle of Maker's Mark? Hey, maybe that's something else you need in your tackle box. A bottle. Think of all the reasons: if you're not catchin', if you're catchin your limit, if you're just celebrating being out on the water, make up your own reason! I do :clown: :drunk:

I'm sure the Maker's was doing a good job. I was salmon fishing a few years ago and a Russian guy dug a gamkatsu into his palm and asked me to cut it out for him. I did the best I could and he was like a soldier and very happy afterwards. Maybe he had a pint of vodka in him. :cyclopsani:

I broke a spine from a big flag yellowtail in my leg on the Yuri trip, didn't want to give myself surgery on the bouncing boat, but basically used the same steps Willie posted to get it out a few days after we got back. Damn thing was about 1/2" long.

Just performed my 2nd surgery earlier today and this time dug much deeper than the first time, I also widened the incision to pull out a fin piece probally barely bigger than a grain of sand, I believe I removed it

I was going to do the same. Mine is bad organized.
Man, I never thought I could earn real money while playing free games at casinointheuk for fun. I've spend the whole day playing them. I'm glad I always can find them there.
