fished pompano beach on friday night from 6 pm to 8:30 pm just south of the pier, my rods were hit all night but only managed to land 2 big and nice bluefish, one was 22 in and the other was around 19 in
There's no such thing as too much bait!!

Nice report , the bluefish seem to thick as of late. Don't overlook using chunks of them for bait.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I fish that area alot but never use bait at all,, I throw plugs metals and jigs,,, lately not much around,, seems the sharks have ran everything off except the lizard fish,,, I use a 7ft rod with a 5000 sustain and have brought in everything I have hooked there.. If I was going to fish bait I would use live shrimp because its hard to cast out over the sand and they are naturally in the area now ,,, good luck and tight lines

Fished the beach this morning from 6:45 till about 7:45. A few smaller bait pods here and there, nothing too wild. Saw a tarpon destroy a mullet pod out of casting range. Caught about 50 jacks, and my first spanish from the sand. Beautiful weather, just not as fishy as I was hoping(besides the jacks).

Fished the beach sat morning from 4:30 to 9:00 not much going on bluefish, ladyfish, mangrove, runners and a small blacktip. Pretty much the bite just stopped after 7am. High tide was at 430am so you had to go way out past the sand bar but nothing doin called it a day at 9am. Till next time

Hey if you don't want to fish with wire and are fishing with circle hooks just bend them with your needle nose pliers to make them offset.
I'VE caught a lot of sharks on mono by doing this fishing for Tarpon.
Hope this will help
