What's with the new parking by Anglins? No more 10 bucks for the day and now it's metered and 10 bucks only gets you something like 3 hours?

Yup...thats been inplace for a while now..total ripoff..i can understand it during the day so that customers of the cafe can get parking too, but at night it should be cheaper since its closed..but its all about revenue in that location

Deerfield peer gives a parking discount to anglers. But beware there's a price for half a day and then a price for all day on the parking

Snapper bite has been decent the last 2 trips out... Mutton was yesterday and yellowtail the week before. Yellowtail caught on freeline gog. ( Most of my larger tails are caught this way) Mutton on standard bottom rig.... If there is current you have a chance for fish...

Went with the gf to visit some of her family members staying at a nearby hotel and we walked to the pier. We paid the 2 dollars per person just to sight see. I saw tons and tons of bait fish but couldn't tell what they were. They weren't pilchards cause they were bigger, goggle eyes maybe? Does anyone know what kind of fish they are? When I was there only saw one fisherman who had caught 2 mangroves. I asked him what did he catch it on and he said "live bait." Guy seemed like a prick.

That was probably Kots he always has an attitude when fishing Anglins

The guy that posted pics on this thread 4 days ago said he was using live gogs and even went on to say he was free lining them. The pic showed he caught a nice mac on a shallow running stick bait.

Thanks Green Tide! I just noticed the guy wrote gog too. So I'm pretty sure they were goggles then.

Congrats to the guy above btw! Great catch!

Hi everyone,

I just moved down here and hit Anglin's for the first time today. I was there 5-8:30p. I managed a blue runner, a few nurse sharks, and some sort of yellow reef fish that all went back. Not sure what this is:

I did manage one 15" yellow tail snapper that I kept. I was pretty happy with that. Just cooked it up and it was great :)

There were a few other people fishing. Saw one Mangrove or Lane snapper caught. Not much else.

I was using a bottom rig, first with squid, then with the fresh mullet they sell there. Is that a good strategy?

thanks
Jason

Bluefish, Spanish, jacks, pomps, ladies, and even a sennet, oh my. Chalkboard even claimed redfish. Tarpon rolling, mullet running. Wow.

Careful with the Spanish Mackerel, yesterday the FWC busted a guy because they turned out to be small Kings instead.

you dont need sandfleas to catch the pomps when the bite is hot like this,, try crappie jigs?

don't expect any keepers, they are a bonus. Weeded through a dozen undersize pomps and a hundred bluefish to come away with one keeper pomp on a pomp jig.

I can verify that the fishing at Anglin's was good today. Macks were coming up thick with blues mixed in up until 6:30 or so. A pod of mullet passed by at 7 with blackcaps on them by the T. Macks were hitting x-raps, shiny gotchas (wouldn't take my red/white one  ), and crappie jigs. Saw three pompano caught before the first hut.
