I was 6:30-8:30...expected no so many and empty parking lot... but was totally wrong... It seemed the pier was open for 24H for Sat night... T was totally pack... total mad house... runner clubs with chicken rig... bubba bubble jigs... some trolleys... a school of 5-10LB bonnie arrived... nobody had the net and I was the only one...
with my net, i brought up at least 6 bonnies and one 18" mutt... and I was able to have a little space as i helped people with netting... I had one nice bonnie on my soft plastic but the freaking my braid pops... I know this is just bonnie but I don't like losing fish because of line pop... my patience completely ran out with this daiwa, J braid 8 strands... this was my third time with this particular braid... I had many other braids with no problem but this particular brand... a Big no to Daiwa, J braid, 8 strands...
BTW, one trolley guy caught nice king... and a few 18" ceros.
Pilchards was at beginning of pier with some slots and over-slot snooks...
Hey man , Glad to hear some kinda report from that place. Sometimes fisherman get bored pretty quick , but at least they were there giving it a try. Maybe you see some mullet next time. What was your target for the day.
Went over to Deerfield peer this past weekend. I guess the tee got shut down since the last time K blue was there. they have a fence going a crossed maybe from the storm maybe they're trying to pull some Sebastian BS I don't know.
Only Saw a couple of small Macs get caught so I gave up on that when I noticed a few hoos swimming around. Took me a couple hours but I got a good two dozen for my next keys trip . I ice them down real good figured they'd be better than that garbage at Jack's
Fwc showed up around noon I don't know if someone had called in on the two guys that were close to me or if he just happened to check their cooler but they got popped with short triggerfish. He didn't F with me. Some chick got me confused with a guy named Brad so I played that up for a while Lol. Oh poop Maybe that was her pick up line dammit man,
The parking up there still sucks.
Nailed this monster on Sunday I believe. Yes it takes mad jigging skills to target one minnow in a school of 100's, sight cast to him, and pull him up.
This past weekend, I saw a guy get hooked up with a jack that was over 10 on his mac rig 10# braid. He had it just about wore out when it got under the pier. I saw the end of the spool at one point. used one of those spro jigs and had a solid hookup.

NICE.!!..mine was empty too, about 5 miles north on Boca beach, got skunked while you were killing them...I am trying to avoid rookie mistakes. What is best place to park ? and what they charge to fish for locals?..Thnx
