Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2013 to 2016 "ONLY REPOR
Went out Saturday around noon. It was packed. Low tide, water clear , no waves, wind below 10 kts. I left around 5 pm. Only two fish over rails. A nice king Mac about 3 ft and a Snook of 25" which went back. Nothing else. Plenty of pilchards at the cover area. Everybody was on live fish. Couple of kids tried hard the plugs to no results. I got a huge puffer on cut fish.
A couple of single large fish passed closed to the surface. Possible Tarpons. Around 3 pm a 25-30 fish school crossed under the pier heading south. Also Tarpons I believe. Really big ones ! Close to surface.
But the weather was great. No humidity, pleasant breeze, cool temperature.
Great day !

Watching the DFB Pier underwater cam all day. Snook are thick and stacking up. Let's catch 'em up!
Those other fish must be smart. We caught all the stupid ones!

notice the "highlights" message at the bottom -- they have been playing the same tape since Irma. They probably removed the camera before the storm -- not sure why that have not replaced it. You are watching summer gog action. Looks like the fish will be biting there on Sat with the favorable fishing frcst.

Pier open for Deerfield residents only for now. Pier open from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm. Plenty of parking. They have fishing windows of 3 hours. I don't know how it works to stay longer. Maybe pay again the 4.00 fee.
Parking is 3.00 for 6 hours (I think).
Went about 5 times since May 15 2020. I hoped to be full of fish because of the closure weeks before. Not overfished.
Each time there were only 4-5 fishermen on the pier.
But no, there is no fish around. Not even bait to catch on sabiki.

Fished yesterday morning and was there at 0600 and only 3 others and myself enjoyed a beautiful morning, crystal clear water and minimal catching.
Tarpon, snook and small mackerel swam around but bait wasn’t plentiful to catch.
Wound up w/ 3 Blue Runners which I gave to another angler.

I was at the Pompano Beach pier and their bait situation is not much better. There are some bait there but they’re small

Went out to Deerfield yesterday. Snapper are on fire. Saw a couple snook break off. Would have been nice to catch one on opening day. Not too many people there. Plenty of bait around.

This is a great month to fish with fall moving in and especially after tropical storms for snapper

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2013 to 2022 "ONLY REPORTS"
feels like fall is coming early this year. While the humidity is still ridiculous, there seems to be a breeze more often than not....even a tease of a ENE wind forecasted for Sunday. Confirmation came yesterday in the form of a lure clearance bin placed in the front of my local walmart -- everything $1. To my surprise there were handfulls of two types of topwater mirrolures, rapala topwaters, gotchas, some mirrodines and some other random hard and soft plastic lures. There was also some name brand 50lb leader spools and of 8lb test mono. I came away having spent $30 for stuff that normally would add up to $210+. It was a sign.
