Just an FYI, all the construction on the sea wall is done now so fishing is back to normal.

Not sure, I never use to have a problem with that but this was like 7 months before the construction started. Im sure someone screwed it up for all of us tho.

Little snook hanging in the eastern most light on the bridge. Scattered mullet pods. The fish are there, just hard to get.

Fished Tuesday night, outgoing tide. BAIT: (caught with sabiki rigs)= pilchards, cigar minnows, and orangespot sardines present but scarce. Lots of blue runners, jacks, and tomtates by the dock. Three hours of fishing with fish finder rigs, knocker rigs and freelining. Caught 1 short mangrove snapper on the knocker rig with a live pilchard. Saw 1 tarpon (50-75lb), 1 slob snook, and 1 long cuda swimming near the docks. Tarpon wouldn't take anything live or dead. No one else was catching much. Frozen baits used by other anglers= squid, shrimp, silversides, spanish sardines, and live shrimp. Fun night with the family!

sounds good. Having fun with family is priceless.

Having hard time to make my two daughters enjoy fishing... I always stop by a candy shop before hitting pier...
But that is one of a few I could teach them...

Went out Sunday night with the family about 5-9pm. Tide was rolling in and it was packed with people. Sabikied up some runners and tomtates, used some frozen pilchards, couple of hits but nothing to land. Also had some bonita strips, but just nibblers out. Tried multiple/different rigs. guys casting artificials didne get any either. Some guys using squid and cut sardines were catching mangrove snapper. Guys by the marina were catching mangroves left and right when the tide was rolling at its strongest. Good night out with the family enjoying this paradise we call home!

Nice. What else did you catch or see caught, no rumors? I'd like to see species and numbers. :-) Hmmm, maybe I should create a template.

Philly, drift a live shrimp on a poppin cork on the outgoing at any inlet right now and you won't be able to keep the tarpon off your hook! The deeper you drift it, the better the chance you'll get nailed by something else. Anytime the shrimp are running this is an effective way to target fish. Also, they will tell you HANDPICK SHRIMP, I on the other hand like the smaller ones, they tend to match the hatch a little better and produce more strikes!

I have only been there a few times, but where is the best place to set up? I seem to do nothing but lose my rigs on the rocks....

I haven't really found that out yet. I myself loose get caught up on the rocks. But then i usually switch to a free line bait fish. I have my best luck casting from the walk path next to the bridge. Theres construction going on by that spot now

Christmas day managed quite a few small grunts, pinfish, sgt. majors, a couple three short grovers and a nurse. everything caught on live shrimp/sabiki spiked with shrimp and the shark was on a cut grunt. Quite the crowd gathered 'round and I have to physically yell "move!" at one guy that evidently did not understand the first half dozen times I asked him. He almost got a face full of shark when I pulled it over the rail.
