Mullet were schooled up thick in a couple spots in Hollywood last night, not really moving around but little jacks and snook popping on them once in a while. Didn't catch any, but had a couple hits.

Hardly any mullet from South Hutchinson Island all the way to Ft. Pierce. The guy in Ft Pierce said there were millions of them there Friday and some yesterday. Nada today.
Some fingers by the Jensen causeway (West side).

Here they are... snapshot as of now :cyclopsani:
palm beach inlet.jpg
They are still around north side of palm beach inlet.

I believe this mullet is from "local waters" of south bound of Jupiter as I have not heard of any mullet run at Jupiter Inlet...But I may be wrong...

On South Hutchinson Island this morning (Tuesday am at day break), quite a few small schools of fingers coming through. Nothing busting them up though. Couple of guys were cast netting but they really did not know what they were doing because after ten or more casts they had nothing. If they knew what to do, they could of had a lot of fingers. But no-se-em were horrible so I left and bought some Off for tomorrow.

Might have to rig my rods up and try tomorrow

Unless this is an unusual year, the mullet run seems to be fragmented. Possibly due to the weather condition in the Southern Southeast shore. Hopefully not, but so far the run is fragmented and I really do not know if there is going to be a concentrated push of migrating mullet forthcoming.

A week (or so) well tell.... lets hope.

Just got in from fishing the Miami Beach/downtown Miami area by boat. Fingers were thick and getting blown up left and right. Lady fish/jacks/snapper bonanza. Saw a few tarpon, but no keeping the baits away from the jacks and ladyfish. A few bigger snapper came home for dinner. Didn't get to fish the outgoing, which I hear is best, but I am still learning the bridges on the inside. I know it's a boat report, but the run is happening boys, just need to get out and fish. I should be out again Friday on foot, I'll post up a report.

Wed morning South Hutchinson Island (Tiger Shores)...quite a few small schools (5 to 10 yards long) fingers coming through at day break. Not much in them. Just after sun came up, they disappeared. Traveled up the coast checking and nada. Wound up at Ft Pierce and fisherman had netted fingers earlier and then catching a few small jacks, 1 mack and 1 slot red. Not too much going on up there either.

Bummer....50 mile round trip (twice this week) for nothing.

saw lots of mullet up north last night... craziest thing i ever saw in the water all night almost..........
some new firsts:

beat my record for snook hooked in one session 5
record for landed in a session 3 of 5
previous biggest 36 inches

fish landed last night in order
38
36
37

also finally threw a cast net at some bait and scored every throw.. even i nthe odd spots...
i am now cast net efficient.... though i did finally hit the barnicles when fatigue set in and ripped a nice hoel in the net... but hey i still caught bait after that with it:)

new score for biggest.... couldnt hook a slot.. actually lost a real nice one hook pulled.....

It was a Tarpon. Seen 4 to 5 of them skirting the mullet. They wouldn't hit anything I threw at them.
