September - October - November 2009 BITE -- BF's Update area

Post by BoatlessFisherman »

I will post stuff that is being caught and Days I think will be good as each week progresses.
I will do my reports in the appropriate threads.

This will give many a chance to fish when the fish are biting well, my predictions as to better days is only that "predictions" I am not psychic.

Anyone that wants to add where they see fish during this time please do.

Zeb, Tommy had to do that to prevent Ricky from harvesting all the Yellowfin. :D

I spoke to FWC scientist and they said Scorpion fish population is fine. It seem Ricky is the only person in South Florida who harvesting them.

Ok
last two days
I have seen resident Fingers and 10 to 12 inch mullet moving, I have been able to net so more than just a few, but not much more.

Speedos have been all over, Sardines and Pilchards also

Ladyfish showed up strong last night.

Juvi Pomps 8 to 10 inchers in the surf, I have been watching a few pods run all over the place.

All of this, just says things are getting close so be ready.

Word is things have started to move to the north but it is at a snails pace, come on Storm where are you at?

Didn't see it with my own eyes, but a buddy who lives off the beach around Boynton says there was a 100 yard school moving down the beach. Not hard to believe with all the mullet I saw in the PB inlet this weekend.

Ok this week each day mullet have been going by more and more, Today the fingers streamed for about 2 to 3 hours.

Not much with this group, a couple of Tarpon and Snook, a few Spanish Macks.

My understanding is we should see this continue a few days from what I have heard.

Not sure yet if it is the start of something or not

8) They have started for sure. I saw way too many schools up the coast 2 days ago. Thing is, current has been mainly heading north. So they move, stop, maybe back up, and so on. But the march is on. If it remains flat and windless, no telling exactly how they will be coming.

8) Yeah man.. They were there yesterday too. I've pulled a 3 day in a row. Too many fish to not go fill coolers. $$ I wish we'd start getting wind so we can do it local.
Did almost 200 lbs yesterday on the Macks basically just half the day. Lot of them waiting to come pay us a visit down here.
I love this time of year.

Small but growing pods of mullet are beginning to migrate our way.
Hit and miss with the snappers at the right times.
Landyfish are following the bait in this area for now.
Justa few more months for the fishing to pick up before winter thru the New Year.
Looking forward to my favorite season. :thumleft:

Anyone that wants to add, you will have to add an area as in city. NOT PLACE you do not have to give the place that you are fishing, just a rough area.

Sorry Tommy, I forgot to mention it was in the Hollywood thru Hallandale area.
I'd also like to add sightings of mullet around the Haulover Inlet.

This is something I did for a local paper and figured I would post it here first, they are suppose to publish it this friday, who knows I still needed to write for the site.

I think most will agree this next week looks like IT so I am cleaning and relining my gear, I do not want to lose any Superfish.

This past week:
Small amounts of mullet everyday passing
Ladyfish have shown everyday, along with Bluefish the bluefish are getting more in numbers as the week has gone on, Mangrove Snapper bite has been good, only a few keeper Mutton Snapper this week though, Crevalle Jacks ranging from 1lb to 8lbs have been showing up steady in the mornings, . Spanish Mackerel are also around just not in Big Numbers yet. We have only seen Juvenile Pompano the last few weeks,Permit sitings and Cobia and Toothy Critters.

All may be going to change with the first front pushing in this weekend, if the forecast holds as being predicted fishing should be Epic at the start of the week, you will have a better chance fishing the piers the beaches may be to tough to fish if the seas get to rough as they may with the wind that is coming. The Water temps should take a dramatic drop and that should be the catilyst that should kick our fall into some solid Shorebound fishing.

No one can predict with 100%, but all looks great for this next week, so if you like to wet a line from shore get out there and catch it up.

We may see a move of mullet this week, Loads of Bluefish, the start of Pompano and the spanish Macks should show in better numbers. We could even see a snapper bite turn on, so plan on full coolers so don,t forget the cooler.

This Report is supplied from the Boatless Fisherman, your Anglins Fishing Pier Friend.. Tommy A.....

These images will change daily I believe and you will see the water get colder and when the arrows on the water movement shoot south ALONG OUR COAST the fishing should be on.

8) I'd make sure before going there to fish. That was just a text I got. Doesn't mean it's legit.
