go buy a 7 footer and learn to throw it....if you practice you will learn to throw it well enough to catch some mullet in less than a day.

3/4 inch net would be the smallest you would want Mullet, you also want it to drop fast. As for weight the heavier the better, light weighted nets are better for shallow water not deeper.

Net size is for drop and size of catch I have 4 nets and have 3 nets in my truck at all times
1. Minnow net 1/4/ or 1/8
2. Pilchard net 3/8 to 1/2 Figer mullet
3. Mullet net 3/4 to 1 1/2 Bigger mullet

I hate picking stuck bait out of the netting

Bro, get a 6' 3/8" mesh net. That's the best all around, easy to throw. My cast nets are the best pieces of tackle I own, I couldn't image not owning one!

Betts cast net... $50... Being able to catch bait... PRICELESS...

Don't waste money on walmart net it's too light. Gets the 6' 3/8" mesh betts. Here's a link to the video I found easiest to learn from but u gota practice until ur Arms hurt then keep goin with how many mullet out lately u don't have to open the net even to catch em

Tiny schools schools of fingers were around this evening around haulover and in the bay. Caught a couple jacks but nothing else. Slow still. We need some wind. It's hot as hell and there's not even a breeze.

Very small schools of mullet at Anglins between 11 and 1am. There were a lot more snook at the pier, about three times the usual, but no takers.

Fished the north side of port everglades on the beach from noon to dusk yesterday. Tons of mullet - some small pods and some steady streams. Not a ton of fish on them at all. All the action was further out. Using live mullet - got a lady fish and a needlefish. It was slow - but nice to see the bait thickening up. A lot of people fishing. Didn't see anything else come on shore other than a really big needlefish.

2 Schools of Pilchard and sardines have passed since 11am and also 3 pods of mullet Basketball court size schools. only a couple of big fish, The ladyfish and Bluefish have started moving in the last 2 days and are getting thicker as each days passes.

As mentioned Snook have started stacking not just at the pier but along the troughs of the beach everywhere as far as I am concerned I am getting reports from people that are fishing the beach in different areas of broward county and they are saying Jacks and Snook.

ICW

Was just watching the Deerfield and Dania pier cams trying to decide if it's worth going. Just saw a guy set the hook on something at Dania, the camera switches to the south view and you see a pretty decent sized poon jump....might have to go check it out.

Boca south packed w/ mullet and the tarpon were all over them during sundown... It was one hell of a show during the time I was out there.. Deerfield IC was quiet.... I missed what I believe was a snook and landed a nice jack - but it was a great night out!

What are the website urls for the deerfield and dania cams that sounds like you can see people fishing?
Thanks in advance.
