For PR T shirts,

I will be there no later than 5 PM...I will have PR T shirts and jigs in my van. Look for dark green Honda Odyssey.
Please pick up your T shirts before the trip.
Also, check out new jigs and get some free jigs.

I've met him a time or two, big dudes can't hug without bellies touching and I'm a firm believer in personal space.

Cool slinger :toast:

While you are down there, get some fresh pins. They work well every now and then, just have to butterfly them in a way they won't spin. You never now what will work, few times they haven't.

Today was a mission for bait, which has me buying much more than I wanted to. Dodging storms, tons of ballyhoo and speedos 15 feet behind the boat in the slick. We ended up with some, but amazing how when you actually want to, and actually try to catch large amounts of bait, it turns into a mission. I guess thats how it goes lol, I will say it was nice to catch a bonita on a home made daisy chain I made, I thought that was pretty cool. Really looking forward to this trip, but today was frustrating lol :happyfisherman:

Don't stress bait.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I agree. I've been on a lot of Tortugas trips, and always worry about bait, and end up dumping tons of it at the end of the trip. Bait always works itself out.

Good to hear.

Have a question for cudaman and others who fished the pulley ridge bank. Did you have success fishing baits the south florida drift boat way of resting your bait on the bottom and fishing in free spool?

Yes depending on the drift speed and current.

Yes, it works good. The other method works very well and covers more area. Just hit bottom, crank a few times to keep it off bottom, hold on free spool, line starts to take off flip the lever, keep tension at all time and reel in. You'll see when we get there.

We will be catching bonitos at the bank, hopefully the fliers will come close to the boat at night. With a new moon it should happen.

Please remember guys, stick to the plan. Bring a couple of heavier weights just in case. Pulley is far from the tugas, but you never know what the current will be like.
Remember, please stick to the plan guys.

Also, please remember, tomorrow be at the dock no later than 5pm

Understood, but just to explain better:

We need to be there no later than 5pm so we can make sure everything is loaded on the boat and we can leave the dock by 6pm, if we all get there earlier we can leave the docks earlier. It's a long ride there

Herb I didn't quite understand can you explain to me one more time what time we should be there ? I'm going with someone that is the very slow driver, he is on Hialeah time and gets lost on 8st picking me up. (tommy

On a serious:

The mates on the Yankee Captain work very hard to make our trip very enjoyable and put fish in our box. Don't you dare not tip at the end of our trip or be a cheap bastard. 15%-20% guys

Don't forget to save for the tip 15% to 20% is good, you can expect very hard working mates that do not fish during the trip.

The tip is
15% = $80
Meet them half way at $100
20% = $107

The tip will go in a box to be split amongst the crew.
