It sure was a fun trip.

Thanks for the nice words Raul :toast: :toast: :toast:

Here is the report from my point of view. I am sure jared will make his own post on his blog on his recipes and fish caught by him. many species were caught and it was cool to see.

I caught that fish at 500ft water... Wayne thought blackbelly rose but later we concluded giant scorpion snapper... it is around 3-4 LB range... in fact, I didn't know crew kept that fish until at dock... They told me good eating fish...and I decided to try...lol

I still say it is a black belly rose fish, it was just a bit discolored. It is a great eating fish :toast:

Nice report and good recipe Jared :toast: :toast: :toast:

Good thing that Capt. Wayne overslept a bit too or I would have missed the trip.

Yes, that chum bag was the first thing I caught on that trip... due to reflection, finding it was harder than hooking...
And later mate also loosed chum bag and needed to gaff it... I was told that is sign of good fishing...

BTW, I just checked FWC web site...
Snowy grouper is 1 fish per vessel per day for Atlantic water so we caught the vessel limit...lol

Congrats to everyone one this trip! :toast:

Jared what setup did you catch the sailfish on? It seem like you weren't using a heavy setup, at least from the video that's what it seems.

Maybe because it lives 500 ft below, I got very-firm white meat that I never expect from that ugly fish... And its taste is most similar to lobster meat among fishes I ever tasted... Boys, don't judge fish taste based on the look...

Snowy's opened Jan. 1 and yellowedge is open as well.

You guys had a great time.

Now I wish I checked in earlier and then would have known about the trip. Always next time.

I'm getting conflicting info on snowys. I have found that this species is closed effective Sept. 1 till May 1, 2016. This comes from safmc.net site.

So my go to app has it wrong. :(
