Destin Area Shore fishing tips?

I'm vacationing there for the next week or so. Have a condo right on the beach about 20 minutes East of Destin. I have a trip booked with Pat Dineen Tuesday and will try some shore fishing in front of the condo the rest of the week. Don't have a way to keep bait alive, but can try to or bottom fish. Do have lots of crankbaits and topwater baits. Any advice for a guy as clueless as me???
