Clown fish

Post by linh »

I was walking some canals looking for peacock bass earlier today. I kept seeing a few splashes here and there. I thought it was a school of bait. Ran back to my car and threw the net when I saw a splash again. Pulled the net up with no bait but there was a huge clown fish in the net. What do they eat?

Anything can happen in S. Florida.... pic would substantiate, but to answer your question

Clownfish primarily feed on small zooplankton from the water column

There are several versions but the most common in Tanks you see look like this:

They were pretty common in a few lakes up in West Palm to the point where I knew people that targeted them specifically. Shiners or small lures worked for them.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

This was near lake ida. I tried with an x rap for a while but no luck.

The peacocks are pretty solid though. :D

Lake Ida is where they are considered established... for sure you can catch the Clown Knife fish in there... seen them caught on a small sizes silver Rattle Trap.
