West Central Pompano report

Post by tears143 »

Pompano has been slow the past month. It has beginning to pick up again with small fish schools beginning to invade the passes. Most of these fish are 10-11" and there are a few big one here and there. Hopefully in the next month these pompanos will grow another inch and there will be many keepers. All of these pompanos are still bearing eggs.

Hopefully the next few weeks more and more will come in and invade the flats, passing through bridges and passes. So your best bet are the passes right now. Some passes produce better on incoming and other produce better on outgoing. Find the best tide for the pass you fish often and you're good to go. Fish show up changes from one week to the next. Sometime They bite evening better than morning and then switch to morning the next week.

So go out there and catch some! However the pompanos are not as tasty as when they are in the fall/winter months.
