hi all,
i have been reading this forum for a while and noticed alot of questions about people wanting to get into the hobby of building rods. i figured i would make a post and offer my help and guidance to anyone that wants to learn. i have been making rods for over 10 years and have had my own custom rod business. after several life changes rod building is more of a hobby for me now, but the techniques i have learned and developed cant be a great asset to new comers.
if your interested in learning or have questions please feel free to email me.

usually through other forums, i have had people come by my shop (my garage) and learn watch and ask questions while i make a few rods. its a great way to see if you want to get into the hobby without having to invest in the $$ for some of the equipment.
if you are anything like me and are really interested in getting into the hobby i HIGHLY recommend the book "advanced custom rod building" by dale clemens. the original is no longer printed but can be bought on e-bay or amazon. there will be a new version of this book made available on April 1st. this is one great book. it seemed a bit confusing when i first starting making rods, but have referred back to it frequently over the last 10 or so years.
if anyone is interested just let me know.
