Key West

Post by Kizer »

Had a great time in Key West. We did scuba spearing and free dive spearing. Came back with multiple snapper, a cuda, and a couple of Hog Fish. My personal best on a 20 inch hog.

Pictures? If you guys keep up with these spearing reports I may be tempted to give it a try one day.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I'll put up some pictures soon. I have to get them from a buddy. My camera case malfunctioned underwater and now that camera is toast with a bunch of pictures.

I took a small cuda on purpose, so that I could eat it. When I tested it for cigutera it came up positive. He became chum the next day for rod and reel.

This hog was in about 30 ft, and is the biggest I have gotten so far.

That is a sweet hogfish. What test did you use on the cuda for cig?

I picked up a test from a place in Miami that escapes my memory, but here is the company that makes it.

Did you forget about that tiger shark you faced?
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Thats a nice hog. How deep were you diving? I did two tank dives last week out of Ft. Lauderdale but came up with a empty stringer.

The Hog was at a shallow wreck, at most 25 ft. The cuda was at a ledge reef, again maybe 30 ft at max depth.
