I will always laugh at some people that argue over the red bead/green bead debate. It doesn't matter. What is funnier is that the amount of people that have no clue that a gold hook rig works just as well. Though I doubt most have no clue how to even make one. I have told people and all they do is say it doesn't work. No clue people.

Tommy (BL) was telling me that all you need is the gold hooks. (you are right, Zeb) Anyways, if already has the Bass Pro Shop sabiki already (which he does) just cut of the beads- works for me -Ron I didn't hear you complaining when you were taking out all the pilchards & putting them in the cooler… On top of that you at one point made sabiki… & double When you are at the jetty count how many sabiki you were losing & I will be glad with the .50 cents sabiki i have lost.

Buying a pack of 100 hooks is way cheaper than buying packs of Bikis. That is all anyone use to use. People nowadays are so use to Bikis that they have no clue that the gold hooks work because they never see anyone use them.

I would gladly make my own gold hook biki's, but where do you find gold hooks the size of the ones on a #3 or #4 biki? I've looked for them, but with no luck!

I guess all this talk about Sabikis means there is no fish at Dania Pier.

The water was pretty much black with fish last time I was there!! Ya, it may take a lot of those kind to make a meal, but hey, they are fish....you said there are no fish, I disagree!!

No fish. They are all at Anglins. Everybody go there. I heard it is non stop sun up to sun down.

Went out today and got some lines wet.. Big muttons, macs, mangrove snaps,
snook, tarpon, couple moons, alot of blues and alot of jacks, and a cuda...
Bite was really nice in the morning around high tide 10 am. Beautiful weather...
winds from the east, nice waves, alot of bait around ( sabikis....hooks... red, green, gold... anything you drop was catchin bait) sun was beamin all day.

i was at the pier from around noon till like 10:30 an it was very much dead at the t all day

what time did you catch all these fish

Most of them were early... from about 9 - 10:30

I use bass pro shop nail clippers- they are larger enough to cut the beads through. (5 mins total time) If you are careful & have a sharp knife you can cut it in half without cutting the line. Just chop it little by little. I think there is 6-7 hooks- make it easy for yourself and cut the line & have 2 less hooks.

oye i tried cutting the beads off and i guess i was not carefull enough cuz i cut threw the bead and line. lol

im just going to buy a couple more biki's without the green beads and i will do my own little experiment to see which i catch more on.

the gold hook rig is made just like a chiken rig rite? do you have to tip the hooks qith squid or shrimp? or do they just hit the hook naked?

Nice fish! Forgive my ignorance, as I'm just getting started here, but is it true that you have to toss the snook back? I thought I read they were closed until Sept.
