Just saw that pic and I would have called you out.

Heres a report
Pompano where on fire until half and hour ago, in close to shore, very close, there has been a few small Cobes caught over the last week and a half.

typical stuff like Bluefish and Macks and a couple of Snapper believe it or not.

I wouldn't say on fire about 3pm to 4 pm it was good after that it died .

Funny,.. that is where they bit that day at Dania too. They haven't been that close lately.

The Mangrove Snapper bite should pickup in June ,when they moving closer to shore to spawn . On another note did they fix the lights on the pier at the T allready ? One and ahalf week ago there was not even one light anymore on there ,would I have known I would have take a light with me....

fished last night, the light at the T was sporadic and kicked on and off when ever it pleased

not much action going on at night, caught a nice nurse, 2 silky's, and a couple bluefish...didnt see no1 else hook up with anything

hope the snapper bite picks up

Ive seen them caught at deerfield about ten or twelve yers ago big ones to in the 20 lb to 30lb range

Going to hit Dania for the 1st time this Friday in the morning about 7am. Are there any bait fish to catch with sabikis? And does a chum bag work out there? And I think there is a bait shop at the pier, what time does it open? Sorry for all the questions but I wanna know if I gotta get some bait before hand.

couple things to bring up today.

went fishin at dania last night, and on the way found a kickass spot that i was able to sabiki into a massive school of "mahara (however its spelled)" and was excited to hit the pier with sone good bait. when i got there, it was packed, tons of annoying people blaring lame music and yelling constantly at their kids, who ran around mad knocking over peoples poles. but honestly, that doesnt bother me b/c i was so focused on watching THICK bait swells going through.
then...
no lights, cause of turtle season, but i was prepared and dropped a lantern down and managed to lure in hundreds of herring, and caught probly 3-4 dozen in the night. but then the guy next to us decided to flip the light breaker on his own, and i overheard the lady working the front that the pier was gonna get fines alot of money b/c she didnt know how to turn em off. that blows, b/c this pier is worked/run by some good people.
my questions are really....
1. anyone catch anything remarkable last night?
2. was it some sort of holiday i wasnt aware of?
3. anyone know if the pier really did get in trouble?

pulled in 1 monster bluefish, 1 mean eal, and a stingray last night, other than that, just tons of bait for the keys.

Way wrong. Where do you come up with this nonsense. The lights were off by accident. The issue was solved. Lucky they didn't make everyone leave until the lights were turned back on. They lights are supposed to have been on, but there was an electrical issue.

Before you start pushing anyone around. I personally had called the pier and asked the lady why the lights were off, she said "its because of turtle season." be it right/wrong wont make your d*** any bigger. You need to just chill out.

As it is, the bait was there and the bluefish seemed to be going for live sardines and not touching threads live or cut. Hopefully the snapper bite picks up with the warmer waters.

rumor has it the snapper bites coming back soon, so that will be a pleasant change from all the blues latley. looking forward to seeing some posts soon about snappers w/ pics and the like. buddy who fishes the inlet up at hillsburo (however its spelled) manages to get a bunch off the rocks when he goes, but im a fan of steady ground, witting on rocks fishing in the dark fighting a ripping current isnt my idea of a fun day fishing, id sooner just steal hil fillets. anyways, good luck folks, gonna avoid dania for a few days to save up for a keys trip. see ya!

That is true. But I will always reply to an insult as I see it. As for DoDo or whatever his name is, hat guy does nothing but whine about Dania. So I expected him to lip off a bit. There are all talk peeps all around. That is life. Always in the net, never enough to say their words in person.

Hey guys thanks for info bout the bait a few posts back. How many poles can you take onto the pier? I thought I read before 3 and a bait pole. Just wanna be sure and usually how crowded is Dania Pier Friday bout 7:30am to bout 2 or 3pm.
