Report for today5/20/ 08 fished 10am to 8pm 2 hits the 1st got hit when I WAS WALKING A TURTLE TO THE BEACH FOR SOMEONE THE GUY THAT PICKED UP MY ROD JUST COULDN'T GET THE MACK OVER THE RAIL. OH WELL THE SECOND HIT NO WIRE CUTOFF AND DOZENS OF MONNIES WERE CAUGHT THAT'S IT . BAIT WAS LIVE PILCHARDS AND SNOOK WERE IN THE SURF FEW POONS AND CUDAS PLUS 2 SHORT MUTTS .

Plenty of bait......glass minnows solid too. I topped out a taller than 5 gallon bucket on 2 casts, and I never thru it in the thick part of the school. There are Snook around the surf everyday. Saw a pod of around 40 Monday morn. Saw more yesterday, but where they could not be reached. But they are there. Better get over there and catch one. Time is running out. 10 days left.

Hey Zebco-in the surf on the N or S of the pier? See anyone catching from the beach. Might have to take a sunrise walk and throw glass minnow imitations.

Scattered around on both. They move around. Seems the thickest part the past few days is hard to get to, on the north side of the tackle shop. But they tend to move around. Most pelicans I have seen in years this time of year too. Glass minnows are thicker than a McDonalds shake.

ive been fighting larengitis for 9 days, still trying to get out there b4 summer comes, but i can barely move without coughing like mad. maybe next week.

I have a friend that wants to chase snook; probably try sunrise Saturday. Let me know if you see someone actually hookin up-From the beach or pier. Or if you here of a bridge thats productive-no secrets necessary-just need a place fishable from land.

...be careful. That doesn't sound like laryngitis; have several friends/co-workers with bronchitis and pneumonia in the last 3 weeks. Allergies too.

i came down with something that knocked me on my arse for 3 days. WOKE UP ONE DAY WENT OUT ON A BUDDIES BOAT TO THE SAND BAR. AFTR SWIMMING AND SWEATING A BIT I WAS LIKE NEW.. STILL AVE A SLIGHT COUGH BUT FLUSHED OUT MY SYSTEM. Fellin great now

when i went out a week or so ago, when sickness was manageable, i got owned by the weather, so now im recovering, but it made it 100 times worse. ill be out next week though, bet your ass. might go out to the beach tomorrow with my gal though

What kind of bait has been around at Dania? I read about the glass minnows. Is that it? Are they still there?

Well I went for a quick shot of walking the beach with a fly rod - no snook. I didn't even see one. There were a lot of people around and that didn't help.

I walked up on the pier for a few minutes. There were a ton of googans. I helped one get a turtle off. The most entertaining part of the day was seeing somebody cast a pyramid sinker at a kite-boarder's kite - missed by a few yards, but the guy got wrapped up in the line. Those idiots were everywhere, some going right by the pier.

As for bait, I didn't see too much - just a few small pilchards that people caught.

Maybe somebody that stayed out there longer could give a better report. I was only out there for 15 minutes.

Btw, I lost a fly box somewhere on the beach - green with a clear cover. If you find it, please pm me.

she doesnt mine laying out while i sand spike next to us and just casually have a rod out, shes awesome like that. many times shes picked up the rod and lure fishes the dark spots.
