flounder is best to fillet working it into four sections....also take it into consideration that the white side has less meat.

8) Just fillet it like a regular fish. The visual of a flounder just plays with your head. It is still a 2 sided fillet. No biggie once you've done the first one.

Sound like a good time Rob. Did Ricky's frost bite healed from him staying out on Long Key?

I agree with you ... dumb question. They are open 365 days barring hurricane or tropical storm.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
Fished this morning with E. Dratler from 04:15 - 08:45.
Basically no wind, water was calm, some color to the water and a fair amount of bait.
I caught 1 pork fish, released, 1 small trigger, released and got slammed on a live gog, but whatever it was, cut my leader in 2.
Eli caught a mangrove snapper and 3 small cudas.
Good to see you Rob, Choi and Jan.

8) What did you catch the Sea Robin on? Do you think they'll be there tomorrow? I may head out all night with my Sea Robin rods and catch some pride of the sea.

Fished this morning from 0445 - 0800 with my daughter and a friend.
Supposed to be a ne - e wind, and it was a nnw wind blowing very softly. Ocean was basically flat, nice green color, water fairly clear. Nice strong tide to the south.
I skunked out even using live grunts, goggle eyes, shrimp, squid, whatever I tried, no good. My friend caught 3 little grunts (used them for bait), and my daughter caught a just-too-short lane snapper and a nice size grunt, also used for live bait.
No-one was catching anything, just as I left, two people each brought up a blue runner, but that was about it.
Good luck all.

I wanted to report my "Grand Slam" from fishing the pier yesterday. First, my cow fish- didn't fight much at all reeled it in like a dead weight on the line was about 11inch. Puffer proved to be a heavier weight on the line reeled it in and it was bloated to about a small basketball. Grunt, had a savage run with this monster (not) re-baited and caught his cousin which was a grunt fight all the way. The ribbon fish was then a hearty sea monster, eating my ballyhoo and running. Landed him with a soft thud and sent him back to the sea. A great pay-off for a day when no-one was landing anything. Fished from 2-11PM. Had some crabs in the trough with no takers for 9-hours. Fished every bait available- live shrimp-dead shrimp-live sand perch, squid, ballyhoo, gogs live and dead, sand fleas. When everyone left I got their bait
Nice day good sun, sea was flat current non-existant to a faint south push. Looking forward to a change soon. You got to laugh about some of the blank days we end up with
