Well, sharks are fish, anytime you have a line in the water is your best bet

:stupid: The only way to increase your chances of catching fish is being out there. Good luck.

Wanted to get some fresh air so hit the pier after dinner last night. There was a bunch of people horsing around at the T so went a few steps back. Caught a lot of trash fish, a small snook, and a pretty big puffer. Surprising to see how much wieght 12lb test can pull up. Nothing wanted my bluefish though..... I hooked up to a ray right before i was getting ready to leave and a friend of mine was there with a camera so told him to take a pic of me bowed up. It wasn't going to be too long before the 12lb test would wear out...

Been a while since I went to DFP. Looks like they mounted a crap load of the cutting board. By the picture where you are fishing, that spot is great for free lining shrimp for Snook.

I already have a reel spooled with 20lb test, I just happened to get a hit on this reel.

The cutting boards are handy...minus the getting your arms sticky but that's fishing. I like that place too, some guy gave me two live shrimp before he left so I freelined them there and got the small snook.

OK, so i am a novice to Florida fishing.

do you use floats? weights? do you just leave your line out? do you cast and reel in slowly?

How about some help please....

Those cutting boards suck, if it rains (in florida, who would have thought) they get really slippery...

If the light is on pre-sunrise, you'd be amazed how many snook chill just outside the reefline at that spot.

Hey sorry, but I'll be new to the area in the Fall and was just scoping out some fishing spots, how much does it cost to fish off this pier? And also does the rock jetty north of it at the inlet have any good fishing. Thanks a ton. -Reid

A friend came down from UF for spring break and wanted to do some fishing for pompano. Conditions were not good when he had the time so instead we went friday night looking for some blacktips. Tried catching some bait...only could manage some grunts and a big spot. At least he had fun on 8lb test. Threw a chunk of the spot out on really light tackle thinking a tip would hit it so he could have some fun....but a nurse found my bait. what's new  At least it was light tackle so even if it didn't pull drag at least the rod bent lol

I've fished it the last 3 days, its been getting progressively slower with fewer blues and sharks each day. No bait= no fish. They need to stop dredging.

Went to the pier yesterday for an hour or so. All spinner sharks and spanish macks. The dredge had the water looking like milk, but the sharks and macks didnt seem to mind to much. Anyone know when the dredge is going to be done?

What time of day did you go? and what bait/lure did you use for the macks?

Dredge has already been there a long ass time, here's a couple pics of it

From last tuesday-saw one runner come up and rick catch a bluefish in the 15 minutes I was out.

I fished saturday pretty much all day, nothing but a couple macks and a bluefish. When I first showed up the dredge was literally right in front of the T.

Thing's messing up the spring kingfish run...

Wanted to take the kids to the pier yesterday not knowing about the dredging. Plan B became beach day. Went a little south to the Embassy Suites area. Water was all muddy. Did see a great show though. In about 2 hrs got to see over a dozen spinners free jumping just beyond the muddy waters. Not much of a judge on distance but could not have been more then 150 yrds off the beach. Great Sight.
