Fished dania yesterday 1100-1600h. Windy but not a lot of rain. Very slow day. Got a mack on an xrap. A father and his son got 2 of them with free lined live bait. The t is basically dead couple of people fishing but nothing biting...

Well went out yesterday to Dania. Got to the pier at around 10 pm and stayed till around 2 am. I was surprised to see they changed staff.

I was using chunked fresh ballyhoo from anglers casting to the south close to the T.

Bite was completely non existent, in the time i was there, all that came up were 3 grunts.

Did see 2 shooting stars and a weird blinding light coming from the south.

I dont think so. The light seemed to be coming from the city and it turned on and off 3 times about 5 minutes apart.

It was weird because it wasnt a spotlight and every single building in the vicinity would get lit up. The light seemed to come from the ground up.

8) The Gestapo "aka" Headless Chickens have taken over. Been spiraling downhill for 3 months.

Fishing will get better. Stay closer inside and fish the north side. No need to run to the end in the middle of that silly googanization. There are Blues and Macks to be had in the sand.

Went last night from 6P-11:30P. Caught a giant Ladyfish, lost three other fish, one which was a keeper snook. Ran twice the spit the circle hook, which I have never used before. Going back to conventional hooks!

Dragon I promise you 100% that if you simply come tight on the fish and set the hook once you know it has broken skin you will not lose a fish to a circle! If you pull it out of her mouth, well thats a different story! I can say my catch rate dramatically increased when I switched to circles but most importantly I have never again gut hooked a fish!

circle hooks are good for snappers, jacks of all kinds, kingfish, bluefish, etc.
but i do find circle hooks not that great for other species and sharks is one of them.
lost a few to bonnies as well.

Yes, I use the highest quality hooks and they are sharp as hell. I let the line get tight then tugged a bit, but didn't snap or rear back and set the hook like a conventional one. Maybe it just got lipped through the thin membrane around the lips...I will keep using them since I have a fair amount of them of different sizes. Thanks for the tips guys. I may be back out Friday evening, and or Saturday AM. It's been quiet at Dania lately. May have to move a bit North...

8) I have lost fish with circle hooks. They can pull loose just like any other hook. It all depends on where the fish is hooked.

Fished 6 to 9 AM before heading in for work

Nice wind but from the ESE.... water had a nice color to it but no bait and little or no fish

Did get a small Pomp and a few small crevies.... but nothing to get excited about....

Looked like a weed line was working its way in with the high tide line so hopefully something will show when it arrives.... might try again after work

Went last night from 8PM-3AM. Got 2 nice Blues, cut off or spit 11 times, current was ripping bad. 4 oz. Pyramid's weren't enough. Thought about going again tonite, but plum tired, and the WX is deteriorating fast. :salut: BTW one of the Blues was gut hooked with a circle.
