i'm planning to head out there to rack up on some bait, does anyone know how the bait situation is out there? any pods of mullets and/or other type of bait out? appreciate it. thanks

hit the pier, didn't see any action at all. saw a small pod of maybe 2 dozen or so of mullets hanging around under the pier but that's about it. nothing else. the usual dania pier action.

Last couple of times I went within the past 2 weeks I seen a couple of snook hanging around there. big cudas as well.

I heard earlier that Dania did not renew their license for the pier that covers you guys fishing. "If" this is the case, better make sure you are carrying your fishing license to avoid any hastles from FWC. This would mean you'd also need a Snook Stamp to keep Snook.

would something like this be posted or how would one know about it?

if you pay to fish on a pier are they required to have this blanket license? if this is not the case what incentive is it for the other piers to carry this expense?

i don't fish this pier but curious just the same.

I'm pretty sure there is no legal requirement for a peer to have any sort of license, it's just an incentive for people to fish there. A visitor can pay a few bucks to fish on the pier and not have to buy a license. If they didn't have a license a visitor might simply fish the beach or jetty and buy a temp license. Now that the parking is so expensive at Dania however money can't really be a reason for regulars, since one or two nights of parking could pay for a license.

I would not trust whoever told you that. I doubt anyone there would have a clue. I would ask to see it, or call the city. Not that they would know either. That place is becoming more clueless as the days go by.

The morning guy who works friday told me they had no license. Take that for what its worth to you. To me it was worth $10.

Friday- No drunks, nobody wizzin over the rail, no fish for me.
1 tarpoon hookup 2 big hits (one was a snook,the other didnt see but it went straight for the pilons. A couple cutoffs. I saw one decent mack caught. Jacks up the wahzoo. We had a personal pier mate dehooking our jacks for us at one point.
