After day break there are some good sized sardines and pinfish...sometimes a perch or blue runner will get snagged on the sabiki.

Was there today for bait, pilchards all day at the T. Heard about a snook and some tarpon caught but wasnt there for that.
just remember, fishing is cheaper than a psychiatrist.

Lots of yellow tail smaller today...barracudas and tarpons as well. Didn't catch the cudas or tarps though just suffered cut and broken lines (no wire rigs)

LOTS of blue runner this morning from 7-11 AM. brother got up one mangrove off the northern end of the T (near the rocks). saw plenty of cuda and snook in the water picking off pilchards from the school (only one was hooked up, snapped the angler's line).

Well I havnt posted on this thread in awhile but I still fish the pier every morning or 6 days a week,,, for the last 4 or 5 weeks we have had alot of blue runners,,, some mangrove snapper from under the pier and a few mac's here and there,,, been losing alot of lures to the tarpon too. The only reason I havnt posted is because I dont get real excited about catching blue runners.

Had a snook hit my Gotcha today, that was pretty cool :reeling:
Other then that, boo-runna fest; couldn't keep a snapper bait down more than a minute cause the runners ate everything.

Weekend at Pompano:

Sat: morning-noon, totally dead till around noon when for a brief spat of action lasting all of 5 minutes there was a tiny jacks invasion, then I hooked a nice AJ, only to have it shake the hook.

Sun: tried the sunset shift, dead again, crazy wind, figured I'd try a chunk of mullet for blues... when BAM!!! Fish takes off like a torpedo, never stopped. I got spooled, all my braid gone bye-bye.

So I reloaded my reel with new braid and went out again on Wed around 4pm. Wind was absolutely insane with intermittent blasts of rain.

Plenty of Jacks around, mostly in the 12" range, but one bruiser was landed, looked about 12lbs. Blues & Runners as well, but oddly no Macks at all.

Pier was elbow to elbow, it amazes me how so many are willing to fish under these conditions. :reeling:

I was at Pampano from 7 am - 12pm. Although there were fish caught I got skunked. There were 4 nice size mack's pulled on the pier. One guy lost a really big one just as he was about to pull it over the rail. There were quite a few blue runners caught a couple AJ's and an occasional common jack. If you didn't have live bait then you probably got skunked like I did.

New Method fo Catching Spanish Mackeral

1) Have your girlfriend's hat fly off into the drink
2) Start throwing a Gotcha at it to snag it
3) See mack explode on lure
4) Hand rod to girlfriend and watch her have fun
5) Assist her in pulling up a nice fattie

Happy Thanksgiving y'all :happyfisherman:

PS: Thanks also to the guy who offered sanitizer after said mack sliced open my thumb!

I went out yesterday morning and got 5 macks in about 45 mins. They came around 645 and were solid until 8 or so.

Went out this morning from 7 to 11. Boy was it dead. The water was flat and the wind was coming from the west. I got a couple of blue runners. The big guy was pretty big and I caught it on a sabiki rig. I saw a few more runners come over the rail but other than that there was nothing biting, not even bait.
