Was there today for an hour or so, caught a lizardfish on my first cast on a yozuri, then switched over to goofy jigs and started catching macks, the only problem was I couldn't land them because of the pelicans, I am seriously bringing a gammo gun next time and help "recondition" their behavior. I also caugight a trumpetfish, a porgy and a couple of other oddities on the goofy jig, I bet tonight will be productive! Will probably be out there again on Monday.

Two of them were really good, there were a lot of smaller macks, but they looked over 12"
If it wasn't for the @#$%ing pelicans I would have landed two nice macks and have dinner tonight, now I'm stuck with chicken lol

Are there bag limits for pelicans, I'm actually serious, are they aloud to be taken for food?

Stick it in some brine for 24hrs that should take away any "game" taste.

Federally protected - read the "migratory bird act", look for brown pelican.
http://www.fws.gov/migratorybirds/Regul ... intro.html

Mess with them and face very, very serious consequences.

Damnit!!! what the heck am I going to pair with my bald eagle steaks??

on a lighter note, my vet friend said I could have pet appetite suppressors and feed it to them.. hahahahahahaha, that way they feel full all day!

Out today 1-7 from 4Am through 2PM. Dead calm, crystal Clear, goggs spooked and bugging was a 75 cast chore for one, chum brought in triggers and tiles with assorted margates. Caught a Lizard on a waxwing lure. Early in the morning a girl on the "T" caught a 16in GAG Grouper which went back into the drink. We caught two pelicans and a few other birds.
Best thing today was that there were 5 different tourists who wore bikinis and three of them wore it well.
Calicos were easy to catch in the night and we put a few out in the morning to have the puffers eat them. We did also see a huge "PuffZilla" a big puffer in the 8-11lb range with a head like a fire hydrant.
Not much to report for today- hung out with friends and watched the water like watching a Fish Tank

Not much to report for Saturday. Out from 4 to 1 pm and not much caught outside of a houndy and lizard. Kinis were a nice 3 out of 4 which helped break up all the aquarium action. :stupid: :toast:

What day was he supposedly out there? According to his post it was at night? 2 things - birds aren't a problem at night and macs very rare at night. Anglin's does not have that kind of crowd, he must of been fishing somewhere else. I know this for a fact as cardigans are not allowed anywhere around Lauderdale by the Sea. Conclusion - the guy is a liar. :scold:

that guy is full of it... I've been at the pier a ton of times and never seen anyone with a cardigan..

seriously though, no matter how bad the birds annoy us, I have never seen anyone try to purposefully hurt them (even though we think about it...) and we all know that the action has not been no where near good enough to leave our macks on the deck... sheesh... and at night.. there are NO birds except those cute little sandpipers that steal all my shrimp and silversides (bastards.. the lot of them! hahahaha) either way.. I feel like this is a smear campaign by someone who is disgruntled about something... total BS.

Agreed.... loved hanging out and wouldn't want it any other way, sometimes it's hot sometimes not.
