Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2012 "ONLY REPORTS"

Fished from 5pm till midnight. Nothing... Buddy hooked a king but we lost it at the pier. Nasty storm came through, we waited it out and hoped for the bite to pick up, maybe for snapper, but no go.

Fished sunday from 7:30 to 1:30 lots of bonita and blue runners went down to the T hooked on to a mac and lost it my first hit of the day.

Fished from 6pm- till 130. Pilchards all around. Not
Much happened till 8 or so, caught a couple
Small grovers, then started getting BIG hits, getting
Popped off on the hit, a couple went to the
Pilings. Either big snapper or snook i think? They hit hard and i
Couldnt get them to stop running before they
Popped off. Ill be back next weekend for em

Fished lastnight from 10pm-2am. Caught some undersized groves again, a nurse shark, and some grunts. I saw a few runners and grovers caught by others, and a few big runs that dropped the persons bait. Also heard that friday they were getting some nice kings

Bait was ridiculous yesterday! Out at the T all you saw if you looked down was black. You could walk across the school of bait if you wanted to. Lots of houndies, runners, and a few macs were pulled up. Also heard about a few bonita caught.

Minnows, and pilchards throughout the day. Bonita, runners, and macs in the morning is what was reported. After the sun went down i fished bottom and got
A couple nice grovers. Then lost something big on a gog just before
Leaving.

Very good day at the Pier yesterday. My dad, brother, cousin, and i all fished yesterday from 6am till 9pm. Got there early and started getting bait while my brother and cousin started throwing gotchas. The runners hit anything in the water instanyly all day long. We set out a few bigger baits and my cousins rod goes off, and he gets a nice bonnie. They were thick in the morning and were caught all day.

A little later my cousin gets a big hit on. His gotcha witch turned out to be a beast snook! Never seen one hit a gotcha. I also hooked a bruiser on a gog freelined in the school of pilchards. My little bro then gets a big run on his reel which goes up and down the Side, then out to the Tee before cutting him off. My dad caught a couple cudas and i hooked a bonnie following one being brought up. Then the action slowed for a bit. Caught a couple small jacks in the down time.

Around 6 things Picked up again with bonnies and some big runs on trolleyed baits on the Tee. A decent sized king came over the rail after the rain. Then i decided to snapper fish and got a couple grovers and a lane.

All in all a great day spent on the pier

Fished from 6-9am this morning, caught runners and one nice spanish mack on gotchas and live bait. The bait were small gogs and sardines. Bait was hard to get today. On the pier there was nothing but small runners and larger runners hitting any bait that was thrown out there, here and there. Overall slow morning.

fished sunday from 8to1 caught tons of blue runners and went down to the T and dropped a cut pilchard and caught a nice mangrove snapper.

Fished yesterday from about 3-9pm. Had some mullet, sardines, and cigar minnows for bait. The water was flat and clear. Alot of trumpet fish came up. A couple snook were hooked into and lost. I bottom fished once it started raining and managed a few nice grovers, lost the biggest ive hooked when i got him to the top. I had set my rod down to see what my buddy caught and came back and found i was rocked. Managed to free him from them and pull him to the surface and he dove back down for the piling, got him up again, and the hook pulled.
I was a sad panda after that

Heard a school of dolphin came through today, and about 6 were caught. Wish i didnt have work today so i could of been out there

The school of dolphin is true. Looked like nice fish too.. Vinny just sent me a picture of the one they got, probably 10-12 pounds.

Reports of dolphin and kings a few days this week. Fished today from 4-10pm. Had about 2 dozen finger mullet and nothing wanted anything to do with them. Saw a few macs caught, a slot snook, and ribbonfish while i was there. No snapper or blues tonight completely skunked. Might try tommorow AM

i ate at flanigan's last month where the hell is the pier parking now? havent fished deerfield in a few yrs with all the stuff they have done there. i used to lvie on that pier. like a day or two at a time
