ok. i went 1 for 5 on cobes off of thaqt ray one of wjich was around 30lbs because jamisons jig wrappert around my line and rod tip. i didnt get a pic of mine(5-8lbs) cus i just flipped him unhooked him and chucked him in really quick to try to get another. mine hit a pink and white cobe jig on my tourney rod. i whooped his ass other than that sunday niught was bad. there were quite a few kings with a few macks mixed in on monday with a pair of 20lbers one lost one landed.

ya so yesteday i hooked a 12 ft t head on my avet mxl and got spooled with a 50 pd mono leader and a 2/0 hook and a chunk of bonita

connors not kidding about the t-head, and yesterday waymond had on a beast bonie and a t-head at it on the way in and he brought it up to the pier and it was aroudn 8 ft aroudn 200lbs notr big but so cool to see and everyone tried to snag it, no one had any god damn big reels on pier and plus me and miek got in trouble for shark fishing non sense even though i was in the surf, while i was in the surf i saw a wee bull shark around 80lbs just cruising along the beach dumbass lifeguards didnt notice it swam trhough liek 5 five people no one saw but me and got spooked and left, inm the middle of the day too like 3pm

Plenty of bait - ballyhoo, gogs and dines.

For anyone that has seen days where all 3 baits are in clouds around the pier, youd know that no reports would be believable. Suffice to say there were plenty of fish to be caught.

Nice fishing with you for a couple hours this AM....
I fished 7-8:30 A
Dines were plentiful as were the gogs. Good Mac Bite in the AM with the average mac being caught, being quite big. - Once the current let up the bite slacked off as well....Conditions were N winds at 15 or so - good chop - clear water due to the ripping current that has been around up until like 7:30 or so

Had a couple nice screaming runs on a live runner - went 0/2....but managed a few nice macs on artificial.

Maybe Paulie will avenge my losses this AM, he is still there

Finally got out off bed and headed to DFP this morning (9am-1:30pm.) Meet up with WhoDey. Water was rough, surfers were out, and water looked perfect. Bait everywhere. Macks were on the move up and down the pier. My girl spent the day catching bait for us. WhoDey and I caught our share of Macs and lost a lot. Saw the trolley fest and they were getting hit all day. Rain roll thru several times. What a great day to be fishing. I love Christmas.

Slam Packed

was there from noon friday to noon sat.
I missed the crazy mack run friday morning, but when I got there there were full coolers. There were still a few around and I got 4 on gotcha. There was a 5-6 foot t- head swimming around. Then my 4/0 goes off with a mack chunk on botttom and the fish starts dumping me. I stopped it for like 10 seconds and gained some line, but then it took off again and right before it got to my powerpro my knot slipped
The night was slow and cold, I got like 7 or 8 bluefish. The macks came in pretty strong at around 8 and I got like 10. I also hooked what we think was a king on gotcha. Took a crapload of line and then cut me above the wire.

Fished Saturday 6pm to Sunday 9am. Meet up with Frogfish, James380, WhoDey, and MikePGA. Bluefish were sporadic but kept us entertained throughout the night. Goggle eyes and pilchards where thick. Once our down bucket and live wells were full we decide to get our trolley rigs ready. Before first light, WhoDey had his Gog destory. The fish was able to eat the head and tail without getting nail by the hook and stinger. James380 also got a nasty hit but no hook up. All was left of the bait was a Gog's head. First light comes and James380 is hooking up to some decent Spanish Macs. I landed my first King at Deerfield. Another angler Derrick landed a King larger than mine. More Spanish Macs hit the deck and the King bite stop after I left. Had a great time fishing with the guys. We got to do this more often.

James starts it off with a nice Blue.

Look at that enormous Skunk Ape foot. Easily 15 inches plus.

James kicked ass all night. He caught more fish then all of us combined.

Anyways, are the pilchards and gogs there all day, or only at night by the lights??

in the lights. in the daytime there are usually gogs aroung the hut and there have also been some cigs and dines recently but not reliable.
