Dania Pier Fishing Reports 2008 "ONLY REPORTS"

I will be heading out there tomorrow. Hopefully all this talk about snappers is true.

wow nice, i find it easy to ignore zebco because all he ever seems to do is run his mouth, no matter what, its just his "hardcore" personality, so dont worry about it ricky9. theres plenty of people, including myself, who would gladly tell him off in person, but hes all talk, so everyone just laughs and moves on while he feels strong, just let him keep running his mouth and we will just keep reporting. i too called the pier and was told about the turtle season, but didnt feel it important enough to "prove zebco wrong" cause he isnt worth it anymore lol. ANYWAYS, as for the snapper rumor, i only heard about mangroves latley, no muttons, except for at the inlet. im predicting may 15th to be the day they start being flipped over the rails again, but thats just my guess. we can start making bets on when the first confirmed is flipped AT DANIA, but all in all its gonna be mid may, thought with wind like today, there no telling what was pushed in.

Anyone got any reports for today? i kept my line dry after seeing the wind blowing like a monster around noon.

turtle issues, yes, but doesnt matter, its 50/50 on whether the lights will be on, but if you cant adapt to fishing in the dark, stay in the sun lol, i find it easy to let night vision take over (and a flashlight) and just feel it out. bait will be there no matter what, we saw it being hit even in the dark. i believe only mangroves are being caught at piers right now, muttons at inlet, hoping for mad rush late may and into the summer

ur absolutely right, zebco has dragged this out into the open, and i have been stupid and dragged it out too, ill settle my peace with zebco offsite, sorry for cluttering the forum with nonsense. i have for a long time been the "live and let live" person online, until it has been affecting friends and other fishermen who make it a point to PM me and tell me to "hold my ground" and the like. i had forgotten that this site is not for a-holes like me and zebco and ricky0 have acted like. this is the last i will speak in public about zebcos actions. ones again and final, i appologize, sorry.

on a forum related note, i plan to hit up dania over the next few days/nights, ill post any reports or updates if any apply. sorry again, and good fishin all.

Went out yesterday from 12-7. I only had about one good run, but just missed the fish. There were mack around, but only saw about 4 come up. Plenty of bait in near shore from glass minnows to herring. All in all it was a pretty slow day.

went very very very early this morning, hoping to load up on a mack or two, but didnt catch any (dont think i staye dlong enough) but did manage to get a buncha bait for the freezer. saw a few people bobbering for top hunting macks, but while i was there, nothing "significant" was flipped. hoping monday will yeild something.

i believe the only thing leading to your constant comments was u felt the need to insult me, but honestly, everyone has sat back and watched you repeatedly attack different posters. I get PM's from people i talk with always complaining on things you say, and everyone seemed to be affraid to say anything. i for one am tired of walking on eggshells watching what i say in fear of the mighty "Zebco" talking down to me. i dont particularly wish to see you leave however, because i feel you have alot of positive input to add to the thread, if only you did it in a non abusive, threatening, or mocking manor, making people feel like garbage and all. i hope through this moderation, you can come out on top and become a great person to communicate with on the forums.

headed out tomorrow, supposed to be some nice winds, hoping the water is murky and the macks are out, but every time i hope that, i end up with bluefish and sharks. we shall see though, gonna hit up the AM then come back for the evening

nothing yesterday morning really, just some mild bait, didnt come back for the night runs. however tragjedy has struck, my penn 650ss reel is now garbage, main rod inside bent and snapped at the part where its drilled b/c i tried to free up the gear when it slipped (always maintain your reels or bad things happen boys and girls...) anyways, its off to bass pro tomorrow to see if i can get an upgrade/replacement. anyone got any suggestions? its simply got to be comparable give or take to the penn 650ss

well heres the verdict, i just got another penn 650ss, cause now i have 2 spools, some replacement parts, and stuff like that, so all is well. ok im off to the inlet today to test this snapper rumor out. later people

i am now the PROUD owner of a penn live runner reel (the bigger of the 2 you can get, believe a 5600) and i tried it out and its fantastic. just an update,

speaking of updates, has dania been dead? no reporta latley

I'd start trying under the T for grovers, use knocker or bottom rigs with small egg sinkers and 1/0 circle hooks with live pilchards or fresh cut bait in the evening hours, they should be there soon
go at least with 20-25# line, those suckers can rock you in seconds

went yesterday from 6:30-11pm...it was windy the whole time, bait was around but not as thick as usual.thankfully my boy provided homemade hot pockets and cookies(if you read this, you still cant cook dude) otherwise trip would have been a bummer....pulled up a blue on a half cut moharra and another run 5 minutes later...that was it

They've been there for years.LOL

yeah, but its not "official" till i go and get some lol, usually i go and get jacks galore, big blue runners, or sheep head. but i dont go as often as i used to, cause its a mile or so walk with gear to get to the rocks from the beach parking spot. but anyways, went fishing last night. tried out my reels, was nice. had a few missed fish, one bluefish, and there was bait scattered, but the wind was blowing a lil rought for a comfortable stay. we still did pretty good though, considering the fish were out there but my circle hooks were not doing their job. anyone else have and random luck?

Went Friday night from around 10pm to 5am .Not much going on . Just grunts ,grunts and more grunts

.Had a butterflied grunt out with no bite ,even put a small live on with out ,same result .Tried shrimps ,sandfleas and also some squid as bait .Oh and there is no light at the T ,but this time I came prepared .

yeah... dania should stop fixing plank sections and just fix that light, its been like that for weeks/months and its troublesome

so after extensive debating and alot of ghetto fabrication, i have started making "ghetto sinkers" lol, so anyone who wants to donate any broken cast nets or whatnot to get rid of their useless lead, lemme know, ill be glad to pick it up sometime, just PM me whenever ya wanna meet up at the pier.

planning on going out maybe monday or tuesday of next week since im going out of town soon. gonna try and get a mack or snapper b4 i go though. we shall see. gl all

Lights on the T are fixed.

Snook are in the surf, Bigger pilchards were there in numbers yesterday morning. Tons of glass minnows are in the surf. Saw a few 50lb plus Tarpon cruising the shoreline in the AM.

woot! finally i can stop charging my craftman lantern light thing. it was getting tiring feeling my way around in the dark. maybe now the herring will come back to the t and not just stay at 2nd light b4 t. but either way, i got em in my sights, and if only to load up on bait for the keys, im happy.
