when newport opens it wont solve your problem you still have to deal with the dumb--- that thinks the pier is his,only he knows how to fish,so only he should be able tofish there,loses his cool when someone cast over his line by mistake,you are going to have a harder time getting rid of him-YOU SEE HIM EVERYDAY,HE LIVES INSIDE YOU

I think you should just tell him in person. Teach him a lesson.
And remember, there are other piers you can go to if you are unhappy with our collection of disrespectful, trash dumping, rule breaking googans that think they can do whatever they please.
Although there are some of those out there that do have respect for the pier and other patrons out there trying to have a good time.

Monday sunset report. Lots of bait holding at the T to move offshore around 7:30. Saw 2 macks caught, 1 bluefish, 2 lady fish, 1 small shark. Some guy jumped a very large tarpon on a bottom rod… Interesting to see so many people fishing on a Monday evening. Most were catching bait… But then I noticed later all these people catching bait were cleaning them to eat….. Desperate times I guess…… Tight lines

Actually, if you take the time to gut and scale the pilchards they are really good fried up crisp.

Don't let the secret out or the entire population of herring will be gone. But if you have more time then:
PICKLED HERRING
2 herrings
2 tsp. crushed allspice
6 bay leaves
1/2 c. vinegar
2 onions
1/2 c. sugar
Soak herring 5-6 hours after removing insides. Clean herring (take skin off, remove bones). Cut and place in dish in layers of sugar, herring, spice, dash of pepper, bay leaves, onions. Add vinegar. Place something heavy on top. Let lay for two days.

Or do like my Haitian friends do....Fry em salt em and put em out in the sun to dry....These don't taste so good though, at least to me, my Haitian friends love it when drinking beer with Barbancourt.

Scotty beat me to it and posted first, so my report is everything he said! I ran into him and his brother on my way out. But I did manage to catch a bunch of bait for my bulldogs to munch on. They're on a raw diet and they love sushi. I also got two small runners and 8 moonies. Everybody says moonies are good to eat. That's great, but how do you prepare them? So, I called my bud, Crashmister. He says, just pop 'em in a slot toaster and next morning, throw the toaster away. Yeah, right! Thanks, dude! Seriously, I don't know if you've ever filleted a moonfish, but today, I did 8 of them. And I'm happy to report, I got about a pound of meat which I also will donate to my puppies menu. And every moony I get from now on, is going right back in the drink. I don't care how many "other folks" ask me for them; "Hey, Mon, you gonna trow dat back? I take it!" Sorry, pal. That's an endangered specie in my book! Good to see ya, Scotty and yer bro! I been out of circulation for the past, say, three, four weeks, traveling on the road. It's good to be back! Tight lines, dudes and dudettes! I'm out

I only got 4 Pomps in the evening. Saw a King come off the pier caught at the T in the 20/25 lb range. Tarpon, Snook, and smaller Macks are everyday lurkers.

Hit up the pier today for some bait and decided to do a little snooking while I was there. Between me and my brother we got 4 snooklets but better then just catch pilchards all day . Plenty of bait at the T the water had good color I seen a nice mack come over the rail and a few pomps. Til next time.

Not too big mainly little males and mid slot size fish from what i seen i had a nice one knock my pilchard about 3 feet in the air of course he missed it.
Nelson i am sure putting in the time is going to pay off. Sorry for the butt dialing my phone sucks what can i say lmao@
