I was in BPS today and saw something they call a Cobia Extreme Rod or something like that. Can anyone tell me the difference between that and a normal surf rod??

I have used them quite a bit for fish that tend to either take the bait and run or kind of suck on the bait then swim off with it. In the Northwest I used them for sturgeon and halibut, they worked...

I tied a dozen knots of each type using 8 pound test Berkley Trilene XL line on 3 different...

I live in cape coral on the west coast of Florida, just down the street from a canal just off the river..this is my favorite bait spot due to the close proximity to my house, the mullet and pinfish...

Would like some input; I use fluorocarbon leader and everything that I read tells me fluorcarb is fluorcarb. I've used Ande, Seaguar and others where the price is a huge difference. Seems the fishing...

Seaguar are the people who started florocarbon. Their line is softer to tie knots with and is proven to work. I buy mine 50 yard spool off eBay. Ande florocarbon works too but tying knots on heavier...

The problem i see with this is that if you decide to tighten down the drag you could bend a spool shaft, but if you don't do this you should be fine! That is if you can pass these previously mentioned...

I would like some insight from you tarpon fishermen if you could, what kind of rigs are you using these days? Personally, I don't have the money for fancy equipment so I have to keep it simple....

i have about 100 yards of braid left over and i know its not enough to spool a whole reel with it but i was wondering if its a good idea to put mono on first then attach the rest of the braid on top...

Guys do yall use a j hook or circle hook if fishing near the grass brackish water w/popping cork? For the bait, what is the rule of thumb if any? Gulp Shrimp, grub tipped with shrimp?
