We were fishing off of the west coast of Costa Rica (pacific side). It was about a hour ride out to the rocks where I hooked up to the first roosterfish on a live rainbow runner. All of the roosters were released.

My brother hooked up to the next one on a live blue runner. We could tell it was a big fish by it's crazy first run.

We had one more runner, but no more roosters were interested, so we dropped it live on a little reef off an island. It got slurped within the minute by this big cubera snapper.

We were all out of live bait, so we put out some ballyhoo in the spread. A rod got hit within a few minutes by this cow dolphin.

Another rod got hit within a few minutes by this bull.

Not sure, but the land that you are seeing is these cliffs that go straight into the water. Totally unpopulated and like I said, it took over an hour ride to get there

Thinking about making a trip for the rooster fish in 2011 @ Costa Rico. Those roosters look very healthy.
