Fall run 2010 BROWARD Update Area -- September - October
Just wondering how people think this fall run will be, Mullet, Pompano, Blues and all else that shows at this time.
Wonder if that cold snap we had will better it or Not, So what ya think?
I am excited for the fish to show.

Hope its better than last fall. Rob reminded me how bad last year was.
I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned

i think it will bounce back and the fishing will be fantastic. perhaps the fish that stayed up north and survived may push further down south just in case the next year is really cold.BoatlessFisherman wrote:Just wondering how people think this fall run will be, Mullet, Pompano, Blues and all else that shows at this time.

I had a great fall run last year. You just had to travel a little.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

I've heard reports of big schools of mullet in the surf around Jupiter inlet and further north.

Re: Fall run 2010 BROWARD whats your take?
I have seen small pods this week here and there, until last night they flowed pretty good until sun up and one of the schools had numerous fish in it, it was total annihilation from all sides and the Mullet did not know what to do BUT DIE I love Mayhem.
Again tonight just as it got dark another Big school with fish in it.
These are Residential Mullet IMO and the Migratory ones from the North will be here in 2 or 3 weeks or sooner if we get hurricanes to the North, Bring on the Massacre !!!

Re: Fall run 2010 BROWARD Update Area -- whats your take?
Ok more Mullet passed at Day break with lots of Snook and Tarpon, Sardines showed out deep off the tee, Ladyfish, and even more Bluefish showed up shallow, Handful of Keeper Muttons, also Mangroves, Cero Macks, Spanish Macks and Bucket Fish.
Saw the first Pompano of fall on Saturday Morning.
This has so far been a good resident Mullet passing the last two days a lot more than I have seen the last few years and we still have the Migratory ones to go.
The next 2 to 3 weeks, Sardines will show up thicker and along with more Black Mullet and then the fingers will show and as the last 3 years we have than gotten another run of Big Blacks. Bluefish will arrive thick with the Main Mullet when it arrives thick, Mackerel will come in thicker when the Fingers get here.
Keeper Pompano and good numbers will come sometime in the middle of October if they get pushed close to shore, the last 4 years they have not and many have gone around due to wind and water temperature lets hope this year we will be Fall as it should be a Nightmare of Blueplate specials coming over the Rail and having to duck so you don't get knocked on your butt.

Re: Fall run 2010 BROWARD Update Area -- whats your take?
So I got really into fishing again around december of last year (saltwater that is) and have never fished the fall run. Any tips on gear, etc. Just looking for basics because like said i've never really been around for the fall run. Thanks

Not in broward, but the mullet are pretty thick at the boca inlet and beach as well.

Mullet-Big and Fingers have been running the Broward Beach for over a week now, its the residents now the real mullet run will be a couple of weeks.
But they have been very consistent this last week so far I am very surprised at the amount I have seen.

went shark fishing today in the IR and saw loads and loads of mullet. i mean a lot of them too. then.... the tarpon were all over them bustin and splashin pretty close to shore should i say or within 2oz spoon cast. man them fish were roaming out there and heading south with the bait. my guess is that the mullet will be down south a month early i recon.

Nice Video!
