How to catch?

WHAT?! are u kidding me???? Did u put a piece of grass on a hook?!?!?! I've never heard/seen that done. I usually just use bread balls and that gets 'em.

I didnt mean to put u out there but i have NEVER heard of that, but whut ever. What i do is through some small bread pieces or cereal to one side to keep the bream occupied and toss a bread ball a little smaller than a golf ball and wait for it. take it easy...

Instead of bread use dough. You can make it or buy in readymade. The brim and other small fish can't get it off. Catfish love it too especially if you mix a little catfood with the dough.

Simple and fun. Just try and get them in quick because they will litearlly exhaust themselves to death.

White bread. Get a bag of white bread and start chumming the CRUST.. as it floats if you just tear it off and toss it. Toss out 2 to 3 inch pieces, about 6 to 12 pieces and just sit back and watch them... eventually you are going to get bluegill and assorted panfish coming up and "boil" on teh crust which makes it sink

.... the carp will actually "slurp" in the pieces not assaulted by the panfish... one you see the lips sticking up slurping in one of your baits.. its time to jam.

Get another piece about 3" long and a size 1 circle hook. Thread the 3" crust piece onto your hook twice... walk over to where you seen the bait get hit, get down low, and lob cast your bait to where it lands a few feet away from where you seen the hit and allow it to drift with the wind, while you are keeping a low profile.. watch your bait and wait for it to get that slurp, and just reel.

Slingnasty and I have bottomed out the 30lb boga numerous times doing exactly this.... (when all other fish just won't cooperate). My buddy came down from NY, we were fishing for largemouth, doing pretty decent. He caught a 4lb largy and told me it was his biggest freshwater fish he ever got..... I laughed and took him to a crap, I mean carp spot... 10 minutes later - the 4lb biggest freshwater fish was replaced with a 27lb fish.

it depends what type of carp they are. some places have grass carp that actually eat plants almost exclusively. try using some canned corn on like a size 4 or 6 hook. carp can't let it be. you can put it on a small float and just fish an area you know they are it. dont forget to chum a couple handfuls of whatever bait you use into a small area. they will come! use light line like 6lb for the most hookups and fun.

you have to see what kind of carp they are. if they have a black tail and look a lil funny, they are grass carp. they will eat small worms and sometimes even tiny artificials like flies.

ive caught carp using corn, no weights on the line just hook a few pieces of canned corn on a hook and let it float.

Cjay, et al, The corn and peas is dead on, you can site cast with that bait go light, where is he gonna go. The dough balls are a can't miss too. FYI you can catch mullet with the veggies, it's a good fight. On fly they rock!Let the carp go though they keep the water open. I'll bet you already knew that. TIGHT LINES!!!.........props to bmd
