The hooks will rusty by the time you use it again. Sabiki are cheap so when you are done just throw them away.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Re: Sabiki Rigs How to re use without TANGLEING Storage Ideas
This reminds me of a while back when I was fishing & ran outta bait & needed a sabiki but had 4got to buy one. I found one in my tackle box, wasn't rusted or missing hooks, it was TANGLED. Literally, I mean it LITERALLY took me over an hour to untangle.
From this I learned to keep my tackle box stocked with everything. I also keep stock of tackle in home, bulk packs of hooks, swivels, beads and 6lbs of 4-6oz sinkers.

how do you have it set on the rod for storage though? I don't really like leaving it on the rod because of all the loose hooksTheFishRCallin wrote:i have a cheap rod equipped with a sabiki already...i did this so that the nongoogans of the world would leave me alone

As in reels, I only own three, Squidder, BG60, Penn 7500. Rods, 6 1/2ft, 7 1/2ft, 15ft. I keep em' in a corner by a framed painting of Jaws by my tv in my living room, my wifey is cool with it. Now if I had the amount of equipment some have in here......I'd get evicted.basshole69 wrote:does your family complain about the amount of fishing equipment you own? i have to put up with that nonsense everyday lolBigBoiFishing wrote:This reminds me of a while back when I was fishing & ran outta bait & needed a sabiki but had 4got to buy one. Charlie's Law: If you fool with a sabiki long enough, it's gonna get you, minimum handling required.
I use an old Zebco reel with a short rod that the kids left when they left home as my sabiki rig.
When finished, I wrap the weight around the reel handle, wrap the sabikis around the rod then stick the whole thing into a PVC tube with an end cap. Don't glue the end cap on so you can stick a garden hose in there to flush the salt and fish goo off. C2

that's not a bad idea...now I just need to get a dedicated rod for it..maybe one of those cheap 15 dollar rods that are ultra light...should do the trickCharlie2 wrote:Charlie's Law: If you fool with a sabiki long enough, it's gonna get you, minimum handling required.

Re: Sabiki Rigs How to re use without TANGLEING Storage Ideas
I bought a really light rod at K-mart for like $20. Nothing special. I just hook one of the sabiki hooks on the bottom guide, then wrap the weight around the bottom of the rod. Nothing special. I usually don't save them, but when I do this is how I do it. At $3-4 a pop for the sabiki's I think I'm going to start trying to salvage them. A day of fishing will tear up a sabiki like nobody's business, especially if you get something weird while catching bait which causes you to loose hook(s).basshole69 wrote:that's not a bad idea...now I just need to get a dedicated rod for it..maybe one of those cheap 15 dollar rods that are ultra light...should do the trickCharlie2 wrote:Charlie's Law: If you fool with a sabiki long enough, it's gonna get you, minimum handling required.
