the whole weekend was basically good for chilling, boat trips and sunbathing, not sure for shore fishing...anyway your live shrimps were put to a decent use, fished the reef stretch and the pilons in search of a hogfish and ended up with a 14" grover and a 13" margate, one guy caught a keeper ytail at the T on a live shrimp. Tourist and googan city other than that That was it for the day
Friday, I never took so many pictures of people and the scenery, with family, and with fish. I cut the hook out of someones hand, tried to get their bucket that fell off the pier. Unhooked alot of fish, id the fish and all that. There were alot of dads with there little boys fishing alone. That was cool.
I dream of a better tomorrow... where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned

last nights report:

Fished from about 7 pm til a bit after midnight or so. things seemed quiet but then the bites came through for a bit after dark. Hooked up a small margate. 3 jacks. a bluefish that was about 18-20 inches:P didnt flip him fast enough he fell off the damn hook at the rail, lol. saw a couple other jacks come up and small runner. CUT BAIT! I switched from shrimp to cut after getting those jacks over but nothing was hitting from then on. A cuda came over just before we left. houndies ALL OVER the place til 11 pm then poof they were gone. saw a lot of smaller fish hanging around under them but they wouldnt bite on anything as it seemed. good times though and a very cool relaxing night nonetheless. oh yeah look out for that big pelican with the white and yellow on his head. he has no fear saw him keep going after this one blonde kid, lol. my gf said help him!! i said,"hey im on his good side it seems he didnt come after me and i was right next to the bird. I'll keep our relationship as it is."

anyhow tight lines!!! hopefully.

west of the gas station on SW corner of A1A(look for white picket fence facing commercial)

last I know it was free till 4-5 pm until about 11 pm, after that it was free again.

correct me if this has changed.

5pm to 11pm is still free, they canceled the city's use for parking so its open 24/7 as of now

Do you need to put an Anglins pier tide chart on the dash or just a paper saying you're at the pier?

I fished today from 12:30pm till about 8pm with my Dad. The water was murky and I thought the bite would be nice. Ended up with two jacks and three blues. It was kind of slow considering the conditions with the high winds and murky waters. Nice to be out there anyway:)

I used greenies that day. I made fillet strips with them. On other occassions, I use whatever happens to be around and do the same. For example, the other day I was getting a lot of butter fish. I used them the same way and ended up catching a bunch of blues on bottom rig.

Fishing the peir as I type this. Calm conditions crystal clear. So far absolutely NOTHING. Besides the millions of puffers that seem to have plotted some sort of invasion :auto: . I overheard them saying something about floating the peir to hallandale LOL. But anyways thinking about trying sea legs to regain my dignity. Til next time :happyfis herman:

Fished sat about one hour before sunset till 1:30am. THe wind picked up when I got there. I heard it was clear and calm with no fish all day. No bites till the sun went down. A heavy se wind came thru. I got a short mutton right off the reef on a bally plug. Moved to the t and dug out a few mangroves and a decent grunt. We had a few big hits. Probable big blue fish. Around 11 the wind just died. I mean died. The mangrove shut down and so did the fishing. The catch of the day was when this guys rod got slammed and went over the side. Me and my buddies snagged it. There was a live grunt for bait on his hook. I wonder what hit it so hard. It was real funny!
Here is a pic of the cooler.

First report in a very long time... Bite was near non existent this morning. Tried some ballyhoo chunks off the T for bluefish but nada. Looked around for bait, but not much until first light when gogs started bugging.

Only thing I saw caught were a puffer and one guy had some decent luck off the T with live shrimp. Landed a porgy, nice cero, and a few short snaps and tails.

Havent been on a pier in over a year so it was nice to get out and see some familiar faces, even though most of them didnt recognize me. Glad to see some things really dont change with time.

Until this desert rat makes his way to the ocean again... Tight lines.

Fished near the hut from 7 AM to 1:30 PM today. The bite was absolutely non existent! I only saw a couple of Blue Runner and Gogs brought up over the rail.

I did get a good hook up on a fresh Mullet head I had soaking on the north side of the rail. What ever it was about spooled me,however I was able to gain about half of the spool back when the line snapped, probably on the reef.

It wasn't a complete loss, it was a beautiful day. I'm going out on Sea Legs 3 this Thursday night for the opening of the Vermillion season.

Tight Lines!
My worst day fishing is always better then my best day working!

been out a few times since my last report, nothing to mention of course since my tarpon that one night.... today we got there around noon fished til about 10 pm. i came home with one 20 inch blue I hooked at about 9 30 or so. :( quiet day. I did cut open one fish that bled green like predator. really odd never seen that color green come out of a fish. it was a small grunt I was using for bait. I mean it wasnt the blood but it looked that way. maybe you can see in the pics... first pic are my blue YEEHAW!!! <--sarcasm. third pic is the green shtuff.

OH YEAH I had one big hit on a runner I put out on bottom and he was about 10 inches or so. somethin was taking off with him and it wrapped me up in the rocks on the north side of the pier north of the hut....:( i couldnt walk or fight him right cause the wind blew my hat off and my hair was all in my face... LOL the only time i think of cutting my hair.

I had a bluefish that did the same thing last weekend.....dark green fluid everywhere!! It's like a green dye or something....doesn't come off your hands very easy either!! Does anyone know what that stuff is??
