lol you are wrong, those guys who fish for snook know what their doing. they will somewhat go away but the googs know nothing about that type of fishing and are really just after jacks, ladyfish and catfish.diggin4grouper wrote:at least most will go away now that snook is closed

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2013
it was very slow i heard last night just before 11pm. saw some huge ladyfish caught on the rocks but thats it. i went to shark fishing instead and hooked up but the weed was so bad the line got caked up and made it difficult to beach the fish. the sargassum is like 2 feet high on the beach.

went last night from 11pm to 2am. the bite was sorta slow but i did land two ladyfish and my friend landed 3. we left the rocks and went to the pier and saw about 17 or 18 ladyfish on deck as well as a few whiting and a big catfish. i was sharkin though and the bait kept getting demolished by other fish whatever they were.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2013
lol. David got a permit today! last night sucked again. fished the south side not the north. didn't see any fish caught on the jetty and i didn't hook any sharks at all. the weed looks like it is starting to build up again due to the heavy wind pushing it on the south rocks.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2013
fished from 11am till about 3pm. saw about 4 permit caught in the 15lb range. quite a few more landed before before i arrived. i guess they will all soon be killed and no more left lol. big reds on top sucking up crabs it was amazing but will end soon i guess. ive never caught a permit but i know the crowds will sky rocket by tomorrow. oh and i didnt catch any reds, jacks nor sharks. total loser today.

Was out there today and hooked into about 30 jacks in the 10-15 pound range. Biggest one was 18. My arms are sore as hell, but had a great time out there. We hooked them all on topwater poppers and zara super spooks. Epic day of topwater action.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2013
Was out there yesterday from 6am - 3pm-ish...
Tons of little greenies bait and the big mullet bait ball was out there.
The day start off with out going tide and saw a school of small jack crashing the small greens. I quickly toss a shrimp bait at it and they ignore it for a while and after they stop crashing a bit I got a hook up and a jack came over the railing. After then I toss the shrimp near the pier trying to catch some mangrove snapper and success in catching one and it was a keeper. Couldn't catch anymore I toss the shrimp into the current and let it drift out to the ocean and manage to catch some big bluerunner. Looking toward the middle of the pier I was some sort of fish crashing at the small greenies. The people there was catching them mackerel that was hitting them, only 2 was caught and they left.
A little bit later I saw like hundreds of big and slot red come running into the inlet... just chillin speed and they were not bitting on anything. Tossed the greenies, mojora, shrimp... at them and it didn't work. Other than that.. bite dies down...
got some mullet and was tossing it around for some fun and got myself a 40" snook and it was quickly return to the water on the beach side as the grouper was cruising the inlet side.. 2-3 of them...
Oh the snook was crashing the mullet big bait ball like 2-3 time while I was there... it's a sight to see!
Total that I was people catching when I was there...
4 mangrove snapper ... I caught 2 of them :-p
2 mack
3 big blue runner .. I caught 2 of them
2 lockdown
3 catch and release snook ... I got one
1 jack ... I caught them
That was it for the whole north pier in a way. Hopefully the storm that soaked me badly yesterday change the fish bitting today.

Re: Sebastian Inlet "Fishing Reports" 2013
Fished the inlet Friday from 6pm-2am and Saturday from 11am-4:30pm... On Friday I fished the incoming and there was lots of bait around. I caught a bunch of jacks and lady fish, and right at sunset myself and the two guys next to me hooked up with nice fish. Two of us lost our fish, but the third guy landed his, and it was a nice snook around 36"... I also caught my limit of Mango snappers on greenies... Today fished the incoming tide, then slack, then outgoing tide... Saw two big jacks and a nice snook landed, and I caught two snapper... If you want to have a lot of fun, take a really light rod(use a heavy leader) and freeline a greenie into the current on the incoming tide, and you have a good chance of hooking up to those monster lady fish. I caught like ten and they were all BIG, and a lot of fun... Though I like Sebastian inlet, I think I am going to stick to Jettypark until winter, because of one reason... The bugs... I wore long pants and long sleeves and a buff and half a bottle of cutter spray on Friday because there was very little wind, and I thought I would be protected from the bugs. I was WRONG!!! I counted the bites I have, and I have around 80 bug bites on my hands and my ankles, because those areas were uncovered... This was my first fishing trip In a month, and I was having major fishing withdrawal so i gusse i disnt notice i was hetting bitten haha.. I should be hitting up jettyparkmon like Wednesday or so, so I will post a report when I go... Good luck out there!
