Nope summer pattern in affect. Loads of summer bait tarpon snook cudas and some mackeral.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

was in the water adjacent to anglins a few weeks ago. Have not been able to fish since, but that day I saw a large school of palometas in 5ft (had them eating bread out of my hand). I'd take a few of those any slow summer day. I did not see anyone catching them but I bet if someone tried that day with some freelined cut bait they could have. Wonder if they are still hanging around the pier.

I caught a few yellow jacks on Sat- 1 decent size yellow jack fought well on 4lb test line & was stolen from me as i put the fish down to let it go back in the water. A fast Asian guy came running and ran off with the fish. Small muttons were caught as well. One guy caught it with a crappie jigs 12in mutton or so put a nice fight. Guy didnt know what it was & I told him and he let the button go.

Yellow Jack on 4lb test? Niceeeeee! :toast: About the Asian guy taking off with your fish that's insane. I would of laughed my ass off if I saw that happen.

Last night, for an hour's time, there was all the 9.99in mangroves a person could ask for. On pilchards, before the tide calmed down.

Hit up anglins last night, absolutely no action at all, caught nothing but grunts and undersized grovers each snapper pulled up averaged 6-8 inches, I started putting put out small live grunts to weed through the smaller grovers, didnt work at all, those little bastards still tore em up. The most entertaining part of my night was that I at least passed the time nicely by talking with these 2 really cute Hungarian girls, I helped them out with fishing, they were reeling the spinning reels upside down, reeling against the drag etc.. gave em some advice and tips how to fish the pier, had a shark bait out the entire time I was there and no takers at all, I just dont get it, where have the sharks been here lately?!?! I mean I used to hook up almost every night now its been awhile since Ive even hooked up yet alone land one there.

When it's one of those nights I just work on the ladies and forget the real fishing, I was In a rush tonight and passed up a longer conversation with 3 girls about beer choice to get back to a dead ass lake what a mistake, especially you find them fishing it can't get much better than that. :toast: it's the only reason I go fish south pointe pier every now and then lol the beach piers draw the right women lol :safe:

I know the feeling, sometimes it's like someone is putting a gun to your head saying choose between :reeling: and :safe: , man that is a tough one lol :nilly: but when you know the fishing isn't superb give in to the other desires.
