Yea so what

I still want to know whats moving, the white bait that is coming down the beach isn't residents.

The beginning of this thread every year is always the residents no biggy, you just want all the fish to yourself.

KEEP THE REPORTS COMING

Pilchard, Sardines, baby gogs have been moving south through the last week in small pods, nothing of any size but I expect that to change in the next week or two, mullet is still a little ways away but our Resident will be moving out of the Inlets soon and it will be fun if your there as they do - becuase they will have Jacks, Tarpon and snook on them and PE Inlet is a good time some years they wrap around the north side so keep your eyes open.

You're never going to strictly get the information you want, it's the internet. As long as you're smart enough to know what information is valuable, which you obviously do, what's the big deal? Let someone else run down to the New River or Blackpoint cause they think the run is in full swing. Just cause that info is of no value to me or you, someone else might find it useful to know where some mullet are at. Just saying.

No one said the run was on or in full swing but when the resident mullet start stacking up its generally a sign that they are getting ready to move.
Close this thread and this whole forum only the know it all GRUNTKING can post anything of value here. Net one of those big mullet and stick it where the sun don't shine. (tommy

shots fired :auto:

here's my pre-run contribution...i live off 74 and collins...plenty of pilchards in the surf (small ones lately though), and plenty of bird activity...jacks have been around every morning on a big tide...runners and ladys in the mix too but nothing to be happy about.

no macks/bluefish to be heard of yet...but we did run into a school of nice 5lb jacks that kept us busy...all we've been using are live pilchards and fingers and when we cant find em xraps and soft plastics have done the trick. Some snook have been around. seaweed has been a pain most of summer but not so much lately...

again nothing to rush out for...but the sardines are moving and the jacks are chasing them every morning....if you really try you'll catch a nice one or a nice cuda...only a matter of time

i will be in the juno area the weekend of sept. 25-27 if anyone is around lets link up....even you GK...even if the resident mullet are just meandering about...fishing is fishing, and its supposed to be fun.....why does everyone drink that haterade so much lately

A guy we had on our dock today showed me a video he took on a beach in Stuart a couple days ago. There was a pod 300 yards long in the surf and tarpon and jacks crushing the mullet... Just saying. Anyone in that area care to confirm if they've seen anything?

I just saw a pod of bait just north of bathtub beach probably 300 yards long but they were mostly glass minnows.

Tons of Finger Mullet at Virginia Beach (Hutchinson Island), and every pelican in the state of Florida dive bombing them from as far as I could see (South to Tiger Shores, and North to Bobs beach).

Unfortunately, lots of weeds so as I didn't see the bait getting busted up at all, I just put my blanket down an read my book.

Strange how some of the reports are indicating large schools moving South, and then others stating nothing can be seen.....weird migration so far (assuming the migration has actually started).

I still think it (the migration) has not actually started because the main pods up North have not been forming up to move South.

Me either, plus since 2015 has been the hottest year in recorded history I would imagine the run would take place about the same time as last year if not later.

corialis effect I would think has played a bit on the bait in and around you bob, I do not believe farther north felt the effect as much. It may have been a hot year but by water temp the area Bobs in has be very cold water due to the corialis effect.

White Bait and some mullet is definitely moving more from vero down to Jupiter then any where else from what I am hearing.

Thanks for the reports guys

Oh another reason I love this thread every year is it helps us little by little to have a better understanding of what might or might not affect an area.

We will see how the next few weeks play out I can see a fall trend starting in weather, wind, coastal current, but we are still not were we need to be to see more happening.

Things start Now to the north and at the end of sept and as late as 2nd or 3rd week of Oct for Broward, unless we see storms and they help coastal currents to head south if the storms come in the right way and have in the past sped things up.

Boatless....although the Coriolis effect does play a part of moving surface masses to the right in our hemisphere...quote( This force causes moving objects on the surface of the Earth to be deflected to the right (with respect to the direction of travel) in the Northern hemisphere ), I would expect the effect to be more global (or statewide in our situation). A cause of this effect is the air currents... I don't think we have had any different summer weather patterns than previous years so I am unsure how the Effect would kick in causing the "apparent early migration" Nor has the movement been that noticeable further north of us.

But then again, I am no where an expert on this subject matter.

But, something is (and has been) amassing the bait (pilchards, mullet etc). I can not remember the beach holding this much bait for this long in the past. The Pelicans are having a ball.

I still think the major thrust of the southern migration will start within 3 weeks....but don't bet your mortgage on my guessing... I don't want to see anyone homeless on my account ha ha.
