Got 3 overs 1 under and 1 keeper (#4) today. Almost every snook caught today was oversized. There was a few bluefish and a couple mackeral caught. No snappers today. At closing time the water was moving so fast to the south that you couldnt keep a bait down, even straight down, with 8 ounces of lead. I would quess that tomorrow is going to be real close to unfishable.

The surf was huge at Juno this morning. I would say at least 6 to 8 ft swells and some 8 to 10 and they were starting way out past the T. There was some tarpon around but it was impossible to keep a bait in front of them.

you put one down the snook would suck it up.Also the mutton snapper were going crazy today, poeple were catching them on their pompano rigs, not many keepers
but they should start bitting solid with the rough weather coming thru.Macks were also plentiful and so were the pompano and pompenette.

I've heard they are very similar to pompano.

How about a report..................

Fished from 6a.m. till 12. Water still dirty with noticeable sediment floating around. Mullet were pretty thick. Thickest i've seen so far. From Fingers up to the big guys. Ladyfish, Blue fish, Runners, Grovers, Muttons, Black Tips, Spinners, Snook, and Tarpon galore oh my. The Muttons were thick with a bunch of keepers including a 25", a 22", & a couple 19"ers. Muttons only seemed to be eating Ladyfish chunks. Grovers only ate shrimp. Snook only ate live Mullet. Two slot Snook taken out of the 4 or 5 caught from the T. Black Tips were thick aswell. I caught 5 or 6. Which is basically all I caught(plus one small Mutton). Those catching the ladyfish weren't sharing the first part of the day and I wasn't having any luck with them. Bluefish were chewing early and I couldn't get one of them either. Go figure. lol It was a good day with lots of fish caught. Just blows when Muttons are going in everyone elses coolers. Till next time.

Get out there guys before the Mutton return to the reefs.

Oh the Ladyfish were hitting crappy jigs and silver small gotchas. Even the Muttons(smaller) were hitting the crappie jigs.

Oh I almost forgot. The guy who caught the biggest Mutton also caught a keeper Cobia about 10 minutes later. He was using cut bait just off the T.

I also learned the hard way what a leather jack was. If I was told it was a skip jack I wouldn't have grabbed it to dehook it. Lesson learned.

lol Chris... They are my friends. Especially when they are on my plate.

BOLO yes I am. Just got back from Miami so tht extra drive this morning would have suuucked.

That's another fish I missed. Pomps(2) were caught off the T with crappie jigs.

Mojo the irritating pain only lasted an hour or so.

the water was really choppy but fishable. not a lot of guys fishing but a good amount of snook with a few keepers mixed in, bluefish, runners, a lot of spadefish and heard a good king was lost up and down on the T. also i weighted a 8lbs triple tail that was landed on a sardine at the T. good amount of finger mullet on the beach but not much else for bait

Almost too rough to fish this morning. A couple real small snook and two or three bluefish on plugs in the surf this morning, but bottom fishing wasnt happening. So rough and dirty that the catfish moved in.

It's probably going to be rough out there today as well with Ike still churning up our winds. Tomorrow the seas should lay down a bit as Ike moves towards Texas.
